Sneaky Overwatch spot helps McCree get Deadeye multikills on Paris

Blizzard Entertainment

An Overwatch player discovered a sneaky spot on Paris that allows for big multi-kills with McCree’s Deadeye.

In theory, Deadeye is one of the most powerful ultimate abilities in the game, capable of taking down all six enemy players with a single use.

In practice, however, getting more than a kill or two with it can be incredibly tough. Not only do you need the opposing team to be grouped within the same line-of-sight, but after nearly four years of Overwatch, players are well accustomed to simply finding cover before the ultimate can go off.

McCree’s Deadeye can be one of the most impactful abilities in the game, but only if enemies don’t see it coming.

Meanwhile, using the ultimate also makes McCree very vulnerable, with the ability leaving him unable to move much and placing a glowing red target on him during its charge-up phase. The result is that unlike the very early days of Overwatch, when highlights were dominated by Deadeye team wipes, these days getting a single elimination can often be counted as a successful use, especially at the higher levels of play.

Reddit user VkOverwatchSchool has discovered a spot on Paris, however, that may well make those big multi-kills more feasible. By hiding in the bushes outside the entrance to the second capture point, McCree can remain unseen when he uses his ultimate.

Not only does the spot give McCree some cover, preventing an easy counter-attack, but it also limits how well the enemy can hide from the deadly ability, with no way of telling where the Deadeye is coming from and no obvious cover nearby.

The spot is also well positioned to allow for multiple kills, as it sits just beyond a choke point that the attacking team must come through, meaning that if it’s timed correctly, there are likely to be several players grouped up as they make the approach to the capture point.

For McCree players, it’s well worth having spots like this in their arsenal, although anyone playing on Paris would do well to keep it in mind in case they hear the high noon warning and can’t see where the danger’s coming from.
