Persona 5 is well-known for its stunning visual style of bright reds and cold blacks along with its dynamite soundtrack. As it turns out, the same style works quite well when applied to Overwatch.

YouTuber orphidia uploaded a video to the platform on November 19 showing off Overwatch mashed-up with the flare of Persona and the result is incredible.

Played alongside the song “Life Will Change” from the Persona 5 soundtrack, the video takes Overwatch heroes and highlights but plops them into the RPG’s universe.

One of the opening shots features a white silhouette of Genji running forward similar to the Persona protagonist Joker. The screen then changes to a close up of McCree and then numerous shots of multiple heroes from the Blizzard FPS.

What makes it so incredible is how much attention to detail there is on every single frame of animation.

Arguably the best part pops up 18 seconds in with McCree’s character showing off numerous action choices, replicating the gameplay of Atlus’ RPG.

It was clear that a lot of time and effort went into crafting this montage as a special treat for both Overwatch and Persona fans.

Of course, neither series is a stranger to crossovers. Blizzard has regularly included skins based on its other games for characters in Overwatch such as Widowmaker Kerrigan paying homage to StarCraft.

Persona’s Joker meanwhile was the first DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros Ultimate and has become one of if not the most dominant character in the title, being mained by the likes of MKLeo – the world’s best player.

Fan-based crossovers are also incredibly popular. Early in November, Akshon esports reimagined Overwatch as a Dark Souls game with some eerily well-crafted Machinima.

The sky is the limit when it comes to creativity nowadays and it’ll be fun to see what YouTubers like orphidia work on next.

If it’s anything like the Persona video, it’s safe to say we’ll be in for a treat.
