A dedicated Twitch streamer left his Fortnite duos teammate in the lurch after finding out that they were using rival platform Mixer to broadcast their match.
Ever since a slew of top Twitch streamers made the move to rival service Mixer, there have been a dispute of sorts online between viewers as to which platform is better.
One streamer even went to far as to quit his entire Fortnite match upon finding out his duos partner used the Microsoft-owned site to host their broadcast, proving that the debate is still alive and kicking.
Twitch vs Mixer
Streamer ‘Maverikz’ was playing Epic Games’ hit battle royale shooter when he got paired up with a random person for a duos match.
“Hello?” he asked once in the loading area to test if his partner had a microphone. When a response was heard, he asked, “Do you stream on Mixer?”
A couple of seconds pause went by, before the teammate answered in confusion to the question with “Uh… Yeah, I do…”

Upon hearing this, the Fortnite player swiftly opened up the pause menu and selected Leave Match, exiting out of the game, before laughing maniacally to himself.
“What’s up, Maverikz?” his now-abandoned teammate asked, before realizing he’d been ditched because he broadcasts on the rival platform. “Huge doucher move!”
After returning to the opening screen, the streamer burst into more hysterics at what he’d just done. “Oh my God, bro! Oh my God!” he remarked. “Clip it so I can see his name so I can say I’m sorry!”
The platform debate started after Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins announced that he was making the move to Mixer back in August thanks to an exclusive deal with the Microsoft-owned service, and was shortly followed by Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek in October.
Twitch then started making exclusive contracts too, and signed streamers such as DrLupo, TimtheTatman, and LIRIK in “multi-million” dollar deals.
