YouTube king Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg teased his fans with a potential new show during his February 28 upload, and claimed the weekly project would be like a mini ‘podcast.’

PewDiePie is the biggest creator on YouTube with millions of fans across the world. The entertainer  has grown his viewership off creative shows like Meme Review and PewNews.

However, fresh off his return from a month-long break from uploading content, the Swede used his latest Last Week I Asked You segment to tease a new show that he’s thinking about doing.

PewDiePie considering a new weekly show

During the latest episode of LWIAY, the Swedish star teased his audience about possibly creating a new show on his channel, but was hesitant to call it a podcast.

The weekly segment would be similar to PewNews which made its debut in 2018 and focused on him reacting to the latest news in pop culture and YouTube.

“I’ve been thinking, I’ve been playing around with ideas because I want to do a weekly show. And I think a weekly PewNews recap could be kind of fun. Almost like…” he said before he paused. “I don’t want to say the P word. I don’t want to say podcast. But I think something like that could be interesting.”

While the Swede seemed hesitant to call it a podcast, many content creators in his field have made the transition to the long-form format with major success.

Ethan and Hila Klein who make up the comedic duo ‘H3H3’ jumped from regular uploads on YouTube to hosting the H3 Podcast which has become wildly popular.

This isn’t the first time the entertainer has hinted at new projects. In his first video back from his YouTube break, Pewds explained that he’s looking into making some changes to content. “And there is definitely some changes I will have to do with the channel, but I’ll do them gradually,” he said.

The Swedish YouTuber has created many shows on his channel such as ‘PewNews’ in 2018.

While a PewDiePie podcast would certainly be a smash hit, his hint sounded closer to a mini weekly recap like PewNews. How it would be different from the old segment exactly, fans will just have to wait and see.

Despite taking a month-long break in January, the YouTuber’s channel hasn’t been impacted at all. Since his return, his videos have been gaining millions of views, demonstrating why the Swede is still the king of the platform.
