How to remake in Valorant

The remake functionality in Valorant proves useful when you need to avoid a match due to a player disconnecting, and this is how it works in the FPS.

You might have encountered situations in Valorant when a random player has gone AFK or left in the buy phase or the first round itself. You’ll often have no idea if they’ll return or are deliberately throwing the match.

Thankfully your entire team can trigger a “remake call” that saves on both time wasting and RR loss.

How to initiate a remake match in Valorant

To initiate a remake match, simply follow the steps below after a random player has disconnected before the first round is over:

  1. Open the in-game chat during the Buy Phase of the second round.
  2. Type “/remake” and press Enter.
  3. A voting prompt will open up for the other players on the team.
  4. All four players must select the “Yes” option (F5 button) on the bottom left, for a fresh start.

And that’s it – your current match will get canceled and you’ll need to queue for competitive.

Remember, this feature won’t work if you are in a party of 5-stack. The player leaving has to be random or else you’ll need to wait for your teammate to join back.

Why should you remake?

The main reason to remake in Valorant is to avoid facing any RR or MMR loss.

The player who disconnected will get a penalty but the rest of your team won’t suffer any losses. The Remake feature was originally introduced to the game with the release of patch 1.07 in 2020.

Can you remake on console?

No, you currently can’t remake on console.

The ability to remake (as well as surrender) was disabled on June 19, 2024. This was in response to a bug reported by players where remaking would cause them to completely lose control of their game.

However, it has since been announced that the feature will return in Patch 9.02.
