Fade revealed as Valorant Agent 20: Abilities, release date

Valorant Agent 20 has been revealed as Fade, a lethal huntress who uses fear to perplex and terrify her enemies. Here’s a rundown of her abilities, as well as her release date.

As Riot Games’ flagship FPS, Valorant, continues to blossom and expand its Agent roster, all eyes are on the future additions to the ongoing battle between Earth and its mysterious mirror companion, Earth 2.

With feisty speed demon Neon being the last character to enter the fray, she’s followed by apex predator, Fade, a fearsome new character hailing from Turkey. She will be the 19th playable character in Valorant, but is officially Agent 20 as Agent 8 remains shrouded in mystery.

Valorant Agent 20: Splash Art

Riot have finally released the Splash Art for this mysterious new Agent. Rocking the gothic look, Fade is here to tear Future Earth’s opponents apart and look good doing it.

Valorant Agent 20: Abilities

While it didn’t give us a ton of background info, the March State of the Agents gave us a good idea about what this unknown character will bring to the table in terms of abilities.

Valorant Character Producer John Goscicki said that Riot devs have been toying with the idea of adding another Initiator like Sova.

“The notion of another Agent that revolves around the information gathering aspect of the tactical loop has, for a while, been top of mind for us,” Goscicki wrote. “This next Agent should give you a more… intimate feeling when hunting down enemies. Of course, there is our theme.”

Following this official reveal on April 24, we can finally share the full list of Fade’s abilities as they’ll appear in-game when she’s added.

  • Haunt (E) — Equip a nightmarish entity. FIRE to throw the orb which will plummet to the ground after a set amount of time. Upon hitting the ground, the orb will turn into a nightmarish entity that will reveal the location of enemies caught in its line of sight. Enemies can destroy this entity. RE-USE the ability to drop the projectile early in-flight.

  • Seize (Q) — Equip an orb of nightmare ink. FIRE to throw the orb which will plummet to the ground after a set amount of time. Upon hitting the ground, the ink will explode and create a zone in which enemies who are caught in it cannot escape the zone by normal means. RE-USE the ability to drop the projectile early in-flight

  • Prowler (C) — EQUIP a Prowler. FIRE will send the Prowler out, causing it to travel in a straight line. The Prowler will lock onto any enemies or trails in their frontal vision cone and chase them, nearsighting them if it reaches them. HOLD the FIRE button to steer the Prowler in the direction of your crosshair.

  • Ultimate Ability – Nightfall — EQUIP the power of Fear. FIRE to send out a wave of nightmare energy that can traverse through walls. The energy creates a trail to the opponent as well as deafens and decays them.

Valorant Agent 20: Release date

We can expect to see Valorant Agent 20 released alongside Episode 4 Act 3 on April 26, 2022.

Fade will release alongside a host of Agent changes – with Jett and Sova being hit in a big way. Of course, there is also a brand-new battle pass to sink your teeth into as well.
