How to uninstall Valorant in 2024

Valorant is an extremely popular shooter with newcomers logging in daily, particularly as it’s now available to enjoy the open beta on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, uninstalling might be the way to go if you try the game and realize it’s not for you.

Whether you’re burnt out, bored, or just want to free up some much-needed space for other games, here’s exactly how to uninstall Valorant on PC and console.

How to uninstall Valorant

On PC

To uninstall the FPS on PC, follow the steps below:

1. Open up your System Tray in the bottom right corner of Windows.
2. Right-click the Vanguard logo and click ‘Exit Vanguard’.
3. Head over to the Windows search bar and type ‘Control Panel’.
4. Select the ‘Programs’ tab and then click ‘Uninstall a program’ at the bottom of the list.
5. Search for Valorant under the list of programs. 
6. Select ‘Uninstall’ to remove the game from your PC. 

After Valorant has been uninstalled, you should also notice that Riot’s Vanguard anti-cheat will no longer appear when you start up your PC too.

It’s important to note that Valorant can’t instantly be uninstalled from the Control Panel – instead, you’ll need to first exit the Vanguard anti-cheat.

PS5

You can uninstall Valorant on PS5 by following the steps below:

1. Navigate to Valorant on your home screen or via the PS5 library
2. Press the options button on your controller
3. Select the ‘Delete‘ option from the menu

Xbox

For Xbox players, this is how to uninstall the game:

1. Make sure you’re on your Xbox home screen

If you want to take the extra step and completely delete your Valorant account, this is how to do it:

1. Head to the Valorant support webpage.
2. Select ‘Account Management, Data Requests, or Deletion’ from the drop-down menu.
3. Navigate to the ‘I Need Help With my Account’ option and choose ‘I Would Like To Delete My Account.’
4. Specify why you want to delete your account and press the submit button.

It’s important to note that once you’ve queued your account to be deleted, you’ll have up to 30 days to change your mind and keep the account.

If you don’t notify Riot Games within the 30-day window you won’t be able to recover the account so be sure to let them know quickly if you do change your mind!
