FunPlus Phoenix have announced the final member of their European Valorant roster, former CSGO pro Dmitriy ‘dimasick’ Matvienko.
Valorant esports fans have been waiting with bated breath to see who FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) had chosen to replace Johan ‘Meddo’ Lundborg.
When FPX announced that Meddo would not be sporting the FPX jersey this year, fans all across the globe were stunned. The Swedish Sentinel main had popped off many a time throughout the First Strike Europe tournament, but parted ways with the iconic franchise soon after.
FPX have finally found the last piece of their Valorant puzzle though, and that’s former CS:GO pro dimasick.
Dimasick signs to FPX Valorant squad
The former CS:GO pro, who has represented Gambit and AVANGAR previously – including at CS:GO Majors, has become the final member for the FPX Valorant European roster.
An announcement of January 4 asked FPX fans to “give a warm welcome to dimasick, who will now serve as a member of our VALORANT division.”
Please give a warm welcome to Dimasick, who will now serve as a member of our VALORANT division. As an experienced former CS: GO player, we believe he will help us to get more trophies in the future!

After an impressive run with CIS squad One Breath Gaming, who achieved placed in the 5th to 8th bracket of the First Strike tournament, scoring a shot at glory with FPX is exactly what the FPS star deserves.
His Duelist skills on Reyna and Raze are pretty insane, but his flexibility has seen him rock Sage to her maximum potential as well during the CIS leg of First Strike.

It seems like he’s exactly what the Chinese based organization needs in terms of Valorant stars. The team narrowly missed out on the European First Strike finals, leaving fans and analysts alike underwhelmed when they were demolished by orgless team SUMN FC.
With a whole host of gold medals under his belt in CS as well as a pretty stellar Valorant history, we can’t wait to see what the Russian brings to the already fearsome franchise. Will he help the team rise like a triumphant phoenix from the ashes? The Valorant Champions Tour will be the real test.
