Young Sheldon might be ending very soon, but the final episodes will include one last round with a familiar Big Bang Theory character.

With seven seasons and an army of new, beloved characters behind it, Young Sheldon has proven to be the spinoff of dreams for fans of The Big Bang Theory.

The Coopers have been busy dealing with Sheldon’s ego and a post-hurricane living situation as of late. But there’s still a handful of episodes left to wrap everything up before the comedy series comes to an end.

Thankfully, fans will be thrilled to hear that Season 7 will also include the return of a classic Big Bang character. What’s more, it’s one who has a well-known history with everyone’s favorite prodigy.

Young Sheldon Season 7 to bring back Tam from The Big Bang Theory

Young Sheldon executive producer Steve Holland recently revealed that the final episodes of the Big Bang Theory spinoff would bring back Tam, a character featured in both shows.

“Tam is going to be back,” Holland told TVLine.

Tam will be a familiar character to fans of both Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory. In the latter, he appeared as Sheldon’s ex-friend who’d ended up on his ‘enemies list’.

The reason? It all goes back to when Sheldon got accepted at Caltech. As Sheldon explains it, Tam agreed to move to California with him and be his roommate. But when Tam got a girlfriend during the summer, he stayed back in Texas.

After struggling to make friends in his new environment, Sheldon ended up with a grudge against his old hometown buddy. Tam would make an appearance in the original series when he (now with a wife and children) visited Sheldon in California.

Tam also played a larger role in the prequel series. Appearing as Sheldon’s childhood friend from Season 1 onward, he last showed up in the spinoff back in Season 4. Since then, he’s been off the radar.

However, this new insight suggests that he’ll be coming back during the final episodes — the perfect Easter egg for Big Bang Theory fans. As for whether they’ll feature Sheldon’s rocky fallout with Tam, it’s possible.

“I think there will be a nod to that,” said Holland, referring to the girlfriend incident.
