The Vision will return after being reborn as White Vision in an upcoming Disney+ project formerly known as Vision Quest.
WandaVision’s ending was most compelling for Wanda Maximoff, as her grief over losing her children and lover drove her to the Darkhold. This led to her downfall in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, seemingly concluding her story.
However, one mystery still remaining is the fate of White Vision, a being created by S.W.O.R.D. from The Vision’s remains. Once he and Vision met, it seemed that White Vision got some of his original memories back, but he has not yet been seen since.
It’s now been confirmed that The Vision will be returning in a new Disney+ series, which was formally known as Vision Quest, though details remain scarce.
When will the MCU Vision series come out?
The MCU Vision series is expected to be released in 2026. This comes from an exclusive report via Variety.
The show was first announced as Vision Quest in October 2022. However, that project was apparently scrapped in favor of a new project with different showrunners.

That change is likely part of a major overhaul in how Marvel handles its creative output, including an ongoing rebranding of the Marvel slate.
In October 2024, Paul Bettany told the publication that the Vision series would begin shooting in 2025. “We’re cooking up something I’m really excited about,” he added.
MCU Vision series: Who has been cast?
Paul Bettany is confirmed to return for the MCU’s Vision series, as well as James Spader, who will reprise the character of Ultron.
The series will mark Bettany’s fifth appearance as Vision in the MCU (he previously voiced the AI J.A.R.V.I.S. in the first Avengers and all three Iron Man films).

Bettany has been attached since the initial report by Deadline, which confirmed Vision Quest was in the works. Previous reports also indicated Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, will appear in the show, though it’s unclear if that is still the plan.
In an August 23 report, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed that James Spader would be making his MCU return, having previously played The Vision’s creator, Ultron, in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Ultron was last seen in Age of Ultron, where he was seemingly destroyed by Vision after the film’s climactic final battle in Sokovia. Spader has not appeared in the MCU since, though Ultron himself did appear in Disney+’s What If…? animated series, voiced by Ross Marquand.
The upcoming Vision series will be headed by Terry Matalas, who was previously a showrunner for Star Trek: Picard.
