In 2017, Dallas Jenkins wrote and directed ‘The Shepherd’, a de facto proof-of-concept pilot for a larger series about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. It sparked a crowdfunding project that raked in nearly $11 million, making it the largest audience-funded production in history.

Fortunately, it appears to have been money well spent. Season 5 is already in production, with two more seasons and three spinoffs in the works.

So, The Chosen Season 4 isn’t just another TV series: it’s the biggest Christian entertainment release of 2024, and this is when you can watch it.

The Chosen Season 4 release date

The Chosen Season 4 premiered in cinemas on February 1, 2024, and it started streaming on the show’s app and website on June 2, 2024.

The whole season screened in cinemas on the following dates:

• Episodes 1-3: February 1-14
• Episodes 4-6: February 15-28
• Episodes 7-8: February 29

After a long delay due to legal issues between the series and its former partner Angel Studios, new episodes came to streaming in June.

The Chosen Season 4 streaming schedule

The Chosen Season 4 will drop episodes twice a week from June 2 until June 27. Check out the full schedule below:

• Episode 1: Promises (Sunday, June 2, 2024) – “An intoxicating dance leads Herod to put an end to John the Baptizer, but no one can stop what — or Who — he’s ushered in.”
• Episode 2: Confessions (Thursday, June 6, 2024) – “Jesus founds his church on unholy ground and Simon goes public with Jesus’ true identity, getting a new name in the process. But can the new ‘Peter’ forgive old wrongs?
• Episode 3: Moon to Blood (Sunday, June 9, 2024) – “When Jesus heals a blind man on the Sabbath, religious leaders confront him, drawing a riotous crowd. Gaius defies a direct order leading Quintus to take matters — and someone’s life — into his own hands.”
• Episode 4: Calm Before (Thursday, June 13, 2024) – “Beginning with a funeral procession, time marches rapidly toward the final days of Jesus’ ministry. While the disciples seek status for themselves, a Roman ruler comes with a humble request.”
• Episode 5: Sitting, Serving, Scheming (Sunday, June 16, 2024) – “Roman soldiers demand the disciples carry their armor, but Jesus goes one step farther. Frustrated by the direction of Jesus’ ministry, Judas visits an old friend for advice.”
• Episode 6: Dedication (Thursday, June 20, 2024) – “Jesus and the disciples celebrate Hanukkah. Matthew confronts Judas about irregularities, and the festival turns into a fight, then flight. The disciples escape with their lives, but learn a friend hasn’t been so lucky.”
• Episode 7: The Last Sign (Sunday, June 23, 2024) – “Jesus brings Lazarus back to life — and sets off the chain of events that will lead to His own death.”
• Episode 8: Humble (Thursday, June 27, 2024) – “Jesus refuses to look and act like the Messiah everyone expects — arriving like a lamb instead of a lion and riding a donkey instead of a war horse.”

The streaming date was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, who revealed the upcoming season will exclusively debut on The Chosen app, with additional streaming and broadcast options to be announced at a later date.

However, if you buy the DVD or Blu-ray, you’ll be able to watch all eight episodes before those on streaming. The Chosen Season 4 will also start airing on The CW in September this year.
