Kingsman actor Taron Egerton has reportedly met up with Marvel Studios, teasing he could take up the Wolverine mantle left by Hugh Jackman.

Marvel Studios are well underway with Phase 4 of the MCU, with Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse of Madness recently debuting on Disney+. The mastermind of the billion-dollar universe, Kevin Feige, is planning the next 10 years of Marvel films.

The X-Men have yet to arrive in the MCU, but this could change as Taron Egerton’s debut as Wolverine might be on the cards.

Taron Egerton meets with Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige for X-Men role

Taron Egerton has met with Marvel Studio’s president Kevin Feige and, according to an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, playing Wolverine is on his radar: “I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role.”

The Rocketman actor added: “that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it.”

However, should Kevin Feige pass on the Adamantium claws to Egerton, he expressed that “hopefully if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot.”

Fans were hopeful to see Hugh Jackman don the iconic yellow costume but it wasn’t to be.

This isn’t the first time that Wolverine has been mentioned to appear in the MCU. Egerton has expressed previously to GQ that “anyone thinks I would be good for the part is really flattering.”

Daniel Radcliffe has also been associated with the X-Men character too, though the Harry Potter star is adamant it’s just fan-made rumors.

Played brilliantly by Hugh Jackman for over a decade, Jackman’s turn as Wolverine never saw the character in his legendary yellow costume. A deleted scene in 2013’s The Wolverine showcases the outfit briefly, but a live-action Wolverine has yet to wear it.
