Fans have been clamoring for a live-action Miles Morales movie for years now, but Sony has revealed they have other priorities.
We’re currently an unknown number of months away from the long-awaited Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse as the film follows up on Across the Spider-Verse’s jaw-dropping cliffhanger.
Sony’s Spider-Man plans remain shrouded in secrecy as they remain unannounced at the time of writing. No one is sure what the future holds for Miles Morales, but the former Ultimate Comics star has proven to be one of Marvel’s most popular characters.
Obviously, Sony has some inkling of what they’re going to do with the character. Recently, Sony chairperson Amy Pascal revealed they do have a timeline for a live-action Miles Morales.
Live-action Miles Morales won’t happen until Spider-verse ends
Speaking with Variety at the Oscars Luncheon, Amy Pascal confirmed a live-action Morales would be in the works “someday.”
“Not until we make two more movies,” Pascal said confidently, turning to Across the Spider-Verse director Phil Lord.

“She’s right,” Lord said. “She’s the boss.”
Fans have been eager for a live-action Miles Morales for a while now. The character was teased in the MCU all the way back in Spider-Man: Homecoming. There, Spidey encountered petty thief Aaron Davis (Donald Glover), who is Miles’ uncle and criminal thief The Prowler in both the comics and the Spider-verse films.
2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse teased the connection further with a cameo of the MCU Aaron Davis in full Prowler garb.
Across the Spider-Verse ended on a cliffhanger with Miles Morales captured by a variant of himself who had become the Prowler. All the while, Miles is hunted by Spider-Man 2099, with help a universe away in the form of Gwen Stacey and Peter B. Parker.
The next film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-verse, is currently undated after being delayed indefinitely. There’s no word on when Spider-Man’s next proper appearance will be, though the Spider-Man adjacent Madame Web does hit theaters soon.
