A new promotional video for the upcoming superhero movie Madame Web has viewers confused because of its “suggestive” presentation.

The Madame Web movie is a bit of an enigma. It’s supposedly the latest movie in Sony’s line-up of Marvel movies centered around Spider-Man, but that hasn’t stopped fans from comparing it to a fan film.

When the first trailer was released back in November 2023, many viewers predicted that there was another Morbius-style situation incoming, with several commentators slamming the choppy editing and strange dialogue.

it doesn’t help that Madame Web isn’t exactly the most famous character in the Spider-Man canon. In the comics, she’s a clairvoyant who can view the future, which she uses to help Spider-Man on multiple occasions.

The costuming for the characters was also slammed on social media, but now the film is going viral for an entirely different reason.

Fans don’t know how to react to new Madame Web promo

In a new promotional video that went viral on Twitter, Madame Web actress Dakota Johnson adressed viewers, saying that she could predict that in the future everyone would watch the fim twice.

However, what caught peoples’ attention was the “seductive” and “breathy” way she delivered the script, with several users likening it to an ASMR video.

One reply read: “Is she trying to seduce me into watching her film?? Well, it worked ngl. 16th Feb, I will be there.”

Another said: “Madame Web has what Morbius doesn’t (weirdly horny advertising).”

Madame Web arrives in cinemas on February 16th 2024.
