Gen V Season 2 is coming eventually, so here’s what we know about the current timeline, new supes in the cast, and what twists the plot might have in store.
Gen V expanded The Boys’ universe with Godolkin University, Vought’s premier college for up-and-coming supes destined for a career in acting, crimefighting, or for the lucky few, a spot on The Seven alongside Homelander and co.
The fantasy series centers on Marie, a blood-bender with a traumatic past who quickly finds herself entangled in a disturbing, potentially “fatal” conspiracy involving rejected, abandoned supes.
We’re excited about how Gen V’s Season 1 finale and The Boys Season 4 set up Season 2, so let’s look at the most recent updates about the new episodes and the Gen V cast members returning.
Is there a Gen V Season 2 release date?
There’s no Season 2 release date. Gen V has been delayed following actor Chance Perdomo’s death. Filming began in May 2024, meaning the show is now officially in production and aiming for a 2025 release.
Amazon TV head Vernon Sanders told The Wrap, “We are in production now. We’ve been in production for several weeks now, probably a month or two and I’m hoping that will be out next year.”
The first table read was set for April 1, 2024. Following the news regarding Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson, production was delayed into May 2024 instead. This is to give the writing team more time to tweak storylines to “honor” Perdomo.
“The entire Gen V family is devastated by the sudden passing of Chance Perdomo. Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television extend our heartfelt thoughts and support to Chance’s family and all who loved him at this difficult time, “ the studios said in a joint statement on March 30, 2024.
Gen V Season 2 cast
The remaining main characters from Gen V Season 1 will lead the Season 2 cast. This includes Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau and Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer.
Gen V Season 2 cast list:
- Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau
- Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer
- Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap
- London Thor as Jordan Li
- Derek Luh as Jordan Li
- Asa Germann as Sam
- Hamish Linklater as Cipher
Hamish Linklater has been added as a new character called Cipher, the charming new Dean of Godolkin University.
Perdomo was supposed to feature in Season 2, but the creative team has revealed they will not recast his character. In a statement, the Gen V team said they will “pay respect to his memory” and “honor Chance and his legacy” in the upcoming season. The press release explained that time is being taken now to reshape the storyline to allow for Perdomo’s absence.
A few characters in Season 1 were killed off ahead of the second season, but the core group is intact.

We expect more Gen V cameos featuring The Boys characters, so keep an eye out for any Easter eggs in upcoming trailers. Anthony Starr’s Homelander appeared for a shocker-cameo in the Season 1 finale, but we don’t think the show will play the same card twice.
What could the plot be?
Season 2 of Gen V is likely to drop the University setting now that the group are Vought’s prisoners.
Season 1 ended with a majority of the characters now captive. While Marie and the rest of the gang aren’t in immediate danger, Vought has plans for them — the evil company’s PR team has never met a problem they couldn’t spin.
More important will be exploring how Marie survived Homelander’s heat vision — something not even most supes could live through. Could she somehow be a pawn in The Boys’ war to kill Homelander once and for all?
Gen V certainly isn’t an inconsequential spinoff. Godolkin is integral to the history of The Seven, and The Boys Season 4 saw multiple characters play an integral role in the plot. Cate and Sam have since cemented their loyalty to Homelander, helping take down the boys in the season finale.
Whether Marie and her fellow imprisoned supes can stop their former friends’ plans, we’ll have to wait and see.
