Another day, another Netflix original series to binge – but what is Furies about? Here’s everything you need to know.
Even amid cancellations, Netflix always manages to promise bigger and better things. This year, it’s been the likes of Griselda, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and One Day, which made people sob into their sofa cushions.
For the rest of 2024, predicted hits include The Gentlemen, 3 Body Problem, and Bridgerton Season 3, which is set to be split into two parts.
However, there’s always room for an underdog, which has recently arrived in the form of new action series Furies. But what is it about? Here’s everything you need to know.
What is Furies about?
Netflix’s official synopsis for Furies reads: “A dive into Paris’s criminal underworld, where Lyna meets the enigmatic and brutal Furie, the boss of this hazardous environment.”
Released on March 1, 2024, the series isn’t to be confused with the 2022 action/thriller of the same name, also available on the platform.
The series is created by Jean-Yves Arnaud and Yoann Legave, and lasts for a neat eight-episode run. You can catch up with the Furies trailer before you binge below:

Furies is a French language action series, with a rating of 18 – which is, if you can guess from the trailer, mostly for violent content.
Is Furies worth watching?
While there isn’t an official Rotten Tomatoes score for Furies, early reviews for the action series have been nothing but promising.
Joel Keller at Decider wrote: “STREAM IT. Furies isn’t exactly deep, but it’s full of action and has a plot that’s not exactly hard to follow.”
Karina Adelgaard from Heaven of Horror agreed: “If you enjoy amazing action scenes and a crime, thriller, and mystery-driven plot, then you’ll like Furies. Sure, some moments work better than others just like some characters are stronger (and more interesting) than others. Still, as a whole, I definitely did enjoy this Netflix revenge series.”
Andy Meek at Boy Genius Report added: “It’s #7 in the US as I write this, and I’m certainly glad that I found it by accident; raw and unsparing crime dramas are one of my favorite things to watch on Netflix, and they also provide a great vehicle for emotionally resonant storytelling. That Furies is set in Paris, with all the sumptuous city scenes and eye candy that entails, is but the cherry on top.”
