Final Destination 6 will bring Death back bigger than ever before, and the latest release news has fans even more excited for the upcoming horror movie.
Whether you’re a fan of gore or not, it can’t be denied that Final Destination doesn’t hold a spot in the hearts of horror fans everywhere. The first movie, released in 2000, set a trend that would grow into a fully-fledged franchise for just over a decade.
Now, we’re getting a sixth installment in the series, and hardcore goreheads can’t wait. For years, they’ve watched the looming shadow of Death haunt those who made lucky escapes, with each film bringing about more gruesome and horrific kills than the last. (Airplanes? Logging trucks? Roller coasters? Ruined!)
As of March 2024, filming has officially begun on the newest movie, and recent news reveals that Final Destination 6 will be released in IMAX. As such, fans have taken to social media to declare their anticipation for this unexpected theatrical experience.
Final Destination 6 will release in IMAX, and fans can’t wait

“Watching people splat in the most horrific ways in IMAX will be a treat,” said another.
While IMAX might be most magnificent with big-scale movies like Dune and Avatar, there’s no denying that it works for sillier movies, too. After all, who wouldn’t want to see the most over-the-top and bloody horror franchise on the biggest and best screen possible?
“In IMAX?!? Oh they mean business with this sequel,” another user added.
“It doesn’t really matter what the plot of the movie is, the kills in IMAX should be cool, and hopefully we’ll get some more excellent #TonyTodd in the movie,” wrote another.
The fact that Final Destination 6 will release in 2025, on the 25th anniversary of the original movie’s release, is a nice touch too. With that on the cards, we’re also crossing our fingers for a theatrical re-release of the first five movies. That way, fans can rewatch those spine-tingling premonitions in all their glory.
