Looking for LG TV universal remote codes? Here’s a detailed list and a guide on how to pair a remote control with your LG TV.
Remote controls are the most frequently lost gadget in any household. While most new smart TVs can be controlled with a smartphone app or work with voice commands, slightly older TVs aren’t as advanced, making them difficult to operate once you lose the remote.
While you always have an option to get a branded remote, it’s ideal to pick up one of the best universal remote controls, as it allows you to control multiple devices. There are chances that the TV you own is slightly old, and the official remote is no longer available, leaving you with no choice other than to pick up a universal control.
That said, as these controls are not specifically made for a particular TV, you’ll have to make these universal controls work with your LG TV. This is when you need special codes that help the TV identify, pair, and connect with the remote control.
These codes differ from the make and model of the TV and can be a set of three, four, or five digits long. We’ve got an extensive list of codes for universal remote controls for your LG TVs.

How to program an LG TV using universal remote codes
Now that you have the universal remote control, your LG TV, and the codes, you must program the controller with the TV. Remember that this a trial-and-error method, and you might need to try multiple codes to ensure the TV responds to the remote control. So, being patient is crucial.
If you have picked up a GE, Phillips, or RCA universal remote control, follow the below process to program the universal remote control with LG TV. Remember, this can be done only if your remote has a “Setup” button.
- Turn on the LG TV manually
- Press and hold the Setup button on the remote till the red light on the power button turns on
- Locate and press the TV button
- Now, it’s time to enter the pairing codes. Most remotes use the 4-digit codes. If none of them work, try the others. 10178 and 11178 are the most common 5-digit codes, so try your luck with these first.
- The red light on the remote turns off when a correct code is entered
- Try checking the compatibility by pressing a few buttons on the remote. If it doesn’t work, repeat the entire process.
