The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 has debuted at a starting price of $300. We’ve gathered everything that you need to know, including its availability, specifications, and features.
Samsung has upgraded its wearables lineup. The South Korean tech brand introduced new products like the Galaxy Ring and the Galaxy Watch Ultra along with the Galaxy Watch 7 at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10.
The Watch 7 offers various upgrades over its predecessor and supports sleep apnea detection features. The Galaxy Watch 7 is the first smartwatch to sport Wear OS 5, way ahead of the arrival of Pixel Watch 3.
Where to buy
The Galaxy Watch 7 is up for pre-order starting July 10 and will start retailing from July 24. If you preorder them before July 23, you get a free watch strap.
The Galaxy Watch 7 can be pre-ordered from the official Samsung website. It can also be pre-ordered at both Best Buy and Amazon right now, with Samsung also offering pre-orders directly.
Price
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 has been priced at $299.99 for the 40mm variant, while the larger 44mm variant will retail at $329.99.
You’ll have to pay an additional $50 for the watch with LTE connectivity.
Design, features, and specifications
The Galaxy Watch 7 sports Samsung’s tried and tested circular case design and is available in two size options – 40mm and 44mm.
The Watch 7 sports an aluminum case and is waterproof up to 50 meters. It is powered by a new 3nm Exynos W1000 chip and has a new dual-frequency GPS, which, according to Samsung, makes the watch way faster than its predecessor and can track your location more accurately.
The watch offers 2GB of memory and 32GB of storage. Samsung has increased the onboard storage from 16GB on the Galaxy Watch 6 to 32GB, letting you download more songs or podcasts.
While the watch only offers iterative upgrades over its predecessor in most cases, it supports FDA-approved sleep apnea detection features, an industry-wide first.

For those unaware, Sleep apnea is a disorder where breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep due to blocked airways or when the brain fails to signal breathing muscles. It causes poor sleep quality, loud snoring, and daytime fatigue, potentially leading to serious health issues if left untreated.
The 40mm Galaxy Watch 7 has a 1.3-inch AMOLED display boasting a resolution of 432 x 432 pixels, while the 44mm Galaxy Watch 7 has a slightly larger 1.5-inch AMOLED screen with 480 x 480 resolution. Both variants offer sapphire glass protection on the display.
The 40mm Galaxy Watch 7 comes in Green and Cream colorways, while the 44m variant offers a color choice of Green or Silver.
The Galaxy Watch 7 sports Samsung’s latest BioActive wellness sensor, promising better accuracy than past versions. This new sensor array includes a PPG heart rate sensor, ECG sensor, and blood oxygen reader. It also has a new bioelectric impedance analysis (BIA) sensor that can read body composition.
The watch has an onboard temperature sensor, accelerometer, barometer, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor, and light sensor, among other sensors.
According to Samsung, the 40mm version of the Galaxy Watch 7 sports a 300 mAh battery, while the larger 44mm model uses a 435 mAh battery. The battery on this watch is rated to offer 40 hours of use.
The highlight of the Galaxy Watch 7 is Samsung’s generous sprinkle of Galaxy AI and Samsung Health features. The watch will rate your readiness on a scale of 0 to 100, on Samsung’s new Energy Score system.
The Galaxy Watch 7 will let you reply to texts with AI-generated responses, and AI thinking is used for sleep insights as well. It also has a big Quick button to trigger specific user-programmed actions, just like the Apple Watch’s Action button.
