The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro have debuted along with the Galaxy Foldable phones, Galaxy Ring, and smartwatches.
As rumored, these premium wireless earbuds sport a new design and features, making them a part of the now tight-knit ecosystem of Galaxy devices.
Where to buy
The Galaxy Buds 3 & 3 Pro are up for pre-order starting July 10 and will start retailing from July 24. If you preorder them before July 23, you get a free case.
The Galaxy Buds 3 can be pre-ordered from the official Samsung website. They will be available from Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, and other offline and online stores closer to the release date.
Price
The Galaxy Buds 3 is priced at $180 while the Buds 3 Pro is priced at $250. While the Galaxy Buds are more expensive than the AirPods, the Buds 3 Pro is on par with Apple’s AirPods Pro 2.
Design and features
The Galaxy Buds look and feel different from their predecessors. In fact, Samsung seems to have drawn “heavy inspiration” from the Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro design.
The Galaxy Buds 3 has an AirPods-like one-size-fits-all open design, meaning that the ear tips do not clog the ear canal but rather sit just outside it. Other features include in-ear detection, pinch control, and swipe control to adjust volume.
The Galaxy Buds 3 has a single 11 mm dynamic driver and comes in White and Silver colorways. The Buds 3 are rated to offer 6 hours of battery backup with ANC turned off and 5 hours with ANC on. The charging case can be charged wirelessly.

The buds are equipped with Bluetooth 5.4, IP57 water and dust-resistant, and support LE audio along with the new Auracast feature – Samsung’s 360 audio feature.
The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is Samsung’s flagship pair of earbuds and comes in White or Silver colors. Like the AirPods Pro, the Buds 3 Pro has an in-ear design. Samsung offers three ear-tips for a tight seal – small, medium, and large.
The Buds 3 Pro has a 10mm dynamic driver and a separate planar tweeter, which should help deliver clearer-sounding highs. According to Samsung, the Buds 3 Pro has dual amps, which helps reduce wireless hiccups.
The Buds 3 Pro also has noise canceling and a transparency mode. Samsung says the “microphones in the Buds 3 series analyze both internal and external sound in real-time to enhance sound and active noise cancellation quality through adaptive EQ and adaptive ANC.”
The Buds 3 Pro is IP57-rated for dust and water resistance. It is rated to offer up to 7 hours of battery backup with noise canceling off and 6 hours with it on.
The stems on these buds are equipped with LED strips that Samsung calls “Blades,” which flash when the buds are in pairing mode or can be activated by just pinching and holding each bud for a few seconds.
