Starfield players discovered that boarding the Constant in a monster costume will result in special dialogue options.
Players can find a number of costumes while exploring the cosmos in Starfield. The Tardigrade Monster Spacesuit represents one such set, allowing users to dress their spacefaring hero in hideous creature getup.
Those who complete the quest for Dr. Giuliana Lakota in the New Homestead settlement on Titan should have no problem acquiring the oversized bug garb.
Interestingly, Starfield players have found that the costume’s not just for looks. Greeting people aboard the Earth Colony Ship Constant while dressed in the bug suit leaves quite the first impression.
Starfield fans hear new dialogue when wearing monster costume
Years before the Earth’s destruction, a colony ship named Constant departed to colonize a different planet. A slice of humanity remains onboard 200 years later when the player character comes along.
But if the character dons the Tardigrade Monster Spacesuit while meeting with the ship’s captain for the first time, “special dialogue” options will appear. This is according to Reddit user bombtree who shared gameplay footage of their encounter with Constant while wearing the costume.

Captain Diana Brackenridge will first ask if the hero is “just a human in some sort of strange suit.” The player can then respond, “Okay, so the costume didn’t fool you, then. Darn.” It’s a bizarre exchange but one that has quite a few players eager to find the Tardigrade attire.
Poking fun at the exchange between Constant and the monster costume-wearing player, one Starfield fan wrote, “Lmfao this is gold. Imagine your entire life has been preparing to make a new settlement aboard an Ark ship and your first contact with sentient life in generations is a guy in a fur suit.”
Other Reddit users claimed it’s not just about the monster attire, though. Apparently, wearing certain types of spacesuits will do the trick.
Either way, it seems the people of Constant are in for a rude awakening if the first sign of life they see is someone dressed in anything other than 200-year-old Earth garments.
