After a litany of leaks and community theories, the fourth DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has finally been confirmed by Nintendo ahead of an in-depth livestream.
Terry Bogard of Fatal Fury is the fourth DLC Fighter in Smash Ultimate and an upcoming livestream is set to breakdown every detail about the latest addition to the stacked roster.
While a recently filed trademark had confirmed suspicions that Terry Bogard would be added in November, an official post from Nintendo has all but locked in the imminent release date.
In a November 4 Tweet, Nintendo Versus unveiled that the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Director, Masahiro Sakurai, would soon be hosting a “roughly 45-minute video livestream” to break down the latest DLC Fighter.
Scheduled to commence at 5AM PT on November 6, the broadcast will give the community an “in-depth look at upcoming DLC Fighter, Terry Bogard from the FATAL FURY series!”

Following in the footsteps of popular DLC Fighters, Terry Bogard will join Piranha Plant, Joker from Persona 5, Hero from Dragon Quest XI, and Rare’s very own Banjo & Kazooie.
If an imminent release is indeed following the upcoming broadcast, there’s a very good chance that the Fighter will be tournament legal for upcoming events. Even as soon as the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Online Open hosted by Nintendo themselves on November 9-10.
Furthermore, the post also revealed that a brand new update would be coming in the very near future. “This update will include fighter adjustments, meaning replay data from previous versions will be incompatible.”

The official Smash Bros. website has also been updated to reflect the recent announcement, highlighting Terry Bogard as the 74th fighter to be added in Smash Ultimate.
Additionally, the listing confirmed that the new fighter will be added to the game in November, meaning that the Smash community won’t have to wait long at all to get their hands on the latest character.
If tradition is to be upheld, DLC Fighters have always been added to the roster immediately following character breakdowns, therefore, Terry Bogard could be playable shortly after Sakurai’s broadcast comes to an end. With server maintenance scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, it’s entirely likely that we see the Fighter added throughout this downtime.

While Terry is the fourth DLC Fighter to be added into the world of Smash Bros, the fighting game community has already been hotly anticipating future additions.
Leaks originally hinted that Fortnite character Jonesy would be an upcoming Fighter, however recent reveals have indicated that Ryu Hayabusa of Ninja Gaiden fame, could be the fifth DLC Fighter.
