The champion has come out of retirement and already set the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Home Run Contest by absolutely crushing the competition.
While most fans think of Smash Ultimate as a way to play with their favorite characters and beat up on their friends, there’s actually a lot more than what meets the eye.
In version 5.0 of Smash Ultimate, the Home Run Contest made its triumphant return to the series as a free update.

Players have already been hard at work trying to hit the punching bag as far as they can, but the reported world record is even further than you can possibly imagine.
Uploaded to YouTube by Teitoku06142, the solo and duo record looks like it’ll be very hard to beat.
His first swing as Daisy sent the bag flying 1221.647km, while the duo of Daisy and Roy sent it 8443.523km.
In the video, you can see the sack flying through the air for over a minute when Daisy and Roy both team up, making this an extremely hard record to beat.
The Home Run Contest hasn’t been back for long so it’s possible players will beat this record in the future, but this is an impressive feat no matter the way you slice it.

“The god is back,” read one YouTube comment, referring to Teitoku’s history with the contest. “The legend has returned,” said another.
Teitoku isn’t a stranger to these home run records, as he made a name for himself for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U for doing the same thing.
With the contest being back in Ultimate, look for him to dust off the old baseball bat and shoot for the stars again, quite literally.
His record with the Smash 4 contest was 140405.2m, so his work is definitely cut out for him.
With Smash Ultimate being way more popular than Smash 4 ever was, maybe he’ll need to defend his crown more often.
Get in there and test your swings right now in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. How far can you hit the punching bag?
