Critical Role Presents: Call of the Netherdeep is a standout adventure book for D&D 5e. Among 5e’s more recent entries, this book gives Critical Role fans and DMs the world over the chance to run a full, engaging story in previously unexplored depths of Exandria.

Previous official 5e Critical Role book Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount proved a smash-hit among fans, providing material for running games within Critical Role’s setting of Exandria. The Mighty Nein’s adventures through Wildemount are a real highlight of the actual play show, and players took to the setting with gusto.

Critical Role Presents: Call of the Netherdeep takes things one step further. While Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount provided enough material to run one of four introductory scenarios, Call of the Netherdeep is a full, fleshed-out adventure module in its own right. This story can be slotted into an existing Exandria-set game, or even comprise a whole campaign.

Taking place on and beneath the continent of Marquet, Call of the Netherdeep brings all the adventure, stakes, and tension you could ask for in the setting, alongside a surprising focus on empathy that won’t shock any fans of Critical Role.

With rules from developing a rival band of adventurers that can become antagonists or allies depending on how the story shakes out, this is an excellent addition to any DM’s library.
