Sea of Thieves, the multiplayer pirate adventure, has been a hit with fans since its release, with more than 4 million players on Xbox and PC in its first few months of release. Then in 2020, after its release on Steam, the game topped the global best sellers list.

Since then, it’s received constant updates and has quickly become one of the best pirate games on the market, rivaling the likes of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. However, with it being available on the Xbox and PC, it left many players wondering, is Sea of Thieves coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch? Well, here’s everything we know.

Is Sea of Thieves coming to PS5?

PlayStation fans, now is your time to shine. Sea of Thieves will be heading to PS5 on April 30, and it’ll be available to add to player wishlists starting February 22.

The news comes courtesy of a dev announcement. It will boast crossplay between Xbox and PC players as well.

Is Sea of Thieves coming to Switch?

At this moment, it is unclear if a Switch port of Sea of Thieves will be coming.

The reveal of Xbox games coming to different platforms came courtesy of the “Updates on the Xbox Business” podcast. During the event, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said, “We’ve made the decision that we’re going to take four games to the other consoles.”

Those four titles would later be revealed to be Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, and Grounded, with the latter two set for Switch releases.

For the time being, Nintendo fans will have to wait and see if Rare has plans for a Switch port. We’ll keep you updated as future updates become clear.
