Four Golden Bachelor contestants were mentors during one of Joey Graziadei’s Season 28 group dates, and a fan questioned the purpose of their appearance.
Joey Graziadei takes nine contestants on a group date in episode 3 of The Bachelor Season 28.
The date takes place in a theatre, where the women compete in an activity called the “Mrs. Right Pageant.”
There will be four special guests joining Joey on the date, April Kirkwood, Susan Noles, Kathy Swarts, and Nancy Hulkower, who referred to themselves as “ASKN” on The Golden Bachelor.
The Golden Bachelor contestants are helping Joey judge the pageant so he can crown one woman as the “World’s Best Kisser.”
Fan questions timing of Golden Bachelor contestants’ appearance
On Reddit, a Bachelor viewer was confused about why the “ASKN” crew appeared on the group date, since The Golden Bachelor hadn’t aired the first season yet when the pageant was filmed.
“Pretty sure Golden Bachelor started airing right after Joey’s season started filming, so they’re going to have to do some creative editing to make it look like these women have any idea who ASKN are lol,” the fan wrote.
The Season 28 contestants looked excited to see April, Susan, Kathy, and Nancy on the date, and made it seem like they recognized them from watching the show.

However, it’s likely that The Bachelor producers encouraged the women to act more dramatic than usual since they knew the episode would be airing after The Golden Bachelor was over.
Aside from the fact that Joey’s contestants didn’t really know who The Golden Bachelor stars were, Joey introduced them as “ASKN.”
This was a nickname that only Golden Bachelor contestants and viewers who watched the show understood.
Bachelor producers are the only other people who would know what “ASKN” means, and could’ve filled the Season 28 contestants in beforehand to play along with what was going on.
The Bachelor franchise has been slammed for creating highly-produced moments on the show for drama, and this is the latest one to catch the attention of fans.
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8:00 p.m ET on ABC.
