Raquel Leviss reflects on her cheating scandal with Tom Sandoval and admitted that getting involved with him was wrong.
Raquel Leviss’ reputation on Vanderpump Rules changed when it was revealed that she had a secret affair with Tom Sandoval.
Before “Scandoval,” the Vanderpump Rules cast thought Raquel was an innocent person and felt sorry that she was in a tumultuous relationship with James Kennedy.
After she got in the middle of Tom and Ariana’s relationship, the group couldn’t trust Raquel or forgive her for ruining Ariana’s life.
However, she was still getting over her with her breakup with James and started an affair with Tom only months later.
Raquel blames younger version of herself for choosing Tom
In the January 29 episode of her podcast Rachel Goes Rogue, Raquel admitted that in therapy, she realized falling in love with Tom wasn’t a good decision.
“When I worked in my therapy I realized that when you’re choosing men, specifically unhealthy men, it is this younger version of yourself choosing these guys to try to get some wound healed. Some like, something to add up within you.”
Raquel continued, “And so when that registered in my mind I was like, ‘Oh my god, my inner child chose Tom? This 40 year old? Like, no honey.'”

Raquel also shared that she liked how Tom treated her parents, but it reminded her too much of James.
“When it all played out, a lot of his character came forward and the way that he would talk to my parents, it just seemed like a James 2.0 situation. And I won’t allow that in my relationships anymore. I think family is really important,” she explained.
During her time at the mental health facility, Raquel learned how to love herself first before jumping into a relationship, and now she’s aware of her actions.
The former Vanderpump Rules star had an unexpected attraction to Tom, which led her to have one of the most controversial affairs in reality TV history.
Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premieres Tuesday, January 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Bravo.
