RHOA’s Kandi Burrus gave an update on casting for Season 16 — and fans just might be surprised.
Kandi Burrus has been a respected castmate of Real Housewives of Atlanta since Season 2.
Though the Season 15 cast brought the drama and delivered the reads, RHOA production may have plans to reboot the entire franchise for Season 16.
Burrus has since commented on casting details, saying that production is “trippin.’”
Kandi Burrus says nobody has received a Season 16 contract yet
Joining Burrus last season on RHOA were Kenya Moore, Sheree Whitfield, Drew Sidora, Marlo Hampton, and Sanya Richards-Ross.
Having lost popular personalities like Porsha Williams and NeNe Leakes, RHOA fans have referred to the franchise as “boring.”
Some fans have even stated that last season was so bad that they won’t be tuning into Season 16 unless it gets a “necessary” reboot.”
However, despite Burrus’ contract not being renewed yet, she seems to think RHOA is doing just fine with the women from last season.

Surprisingly enough, Burrus isn’t the only RHOA that has not received a contract, as she made a recent comment saying, “They [production] still haven’t told everybody who they’re bringing back.”
Burrus continued, “Yeah, they’re over here, they’re being real, uhhh — [they’re] trippin.’ People got lives around here. We gotta make plans for other things.”
Kandi Burrus confirms her RHOA exit
In an interview with Variety, Burrus admitted she came to the decision to no longer be a part of the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Saying that she hadn’t been keeping up with the franchise during recent moments of not filming, Burrus added, “I decided I’m not coming back this year.”
Burrus continued, “It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things.”
Burrus went on to explain that she isn’t passionate about the franchise anymore, saying that she was habitually participating after a friend asked her why she was still a BravoTV Housewife.
Though Burruss will no longer be on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, there are rumors that Porsha Williams might be making a return for Season 16.
