Queer Eye Season 8: Meet the heroes being transformed by the Fab Five

Netflix reality show Queer Eye was announced to return to our screens with Season 8. Here are all the details you need to know about the Heroes starring in this season.

Fans are anticipated to see their favorite Fab Five return on their screens on January 24 with the new Queer Eye Season 8. Six new episodes of the show were filmed in New Orleans with six different local guest stars.

The Fab Five hosts  –– Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski, and Tan France –– will be working hard to transform the lives of these New Orleans locals in the most wholesome way.

Joining the journey of Season 8 will be Ernest Bartholomew, Alison McCrary, Anh Luu, Denton Mallas, Tim Keel, and Doreen Ketches.

Alison McCrary

Alison works as an Executive Director of Mission Mycelium where she provides strategy, legal, spiritual, and other forms of support for social movements. She takes pride in serving communities as a social justice lawyer and campaign strategist. She was a former nun who later made a journey towards a law career. She now uses her experience from her past within her social movement projects and for criminal justice reforms.

She expressed her gratitude for having an opportunity to be on Queer Eye on her Instagram. She wrote: “I hope the episode inspires people to care for themselves, to have the courage to make big life changes even when it’s hard, and to be vulnerable. I pray that it touches peoples’ hearts and minds.”

Anh Luu

Anh Luu is a young chef and entrepreneur with her Vietnamese street food pop-up in New Orleans named Xanh. Apart from her career, she spends most of her time traveling around with her partner Sam Jones, and her dog Mac

Denton Mallas

Denton works as Athletic Director and head football coach at the Louisiana School for the Deaf (LSD). He was even recognized for his sincere love of the sport as he overcame deafness to lead young athletes. Denton will be joining Queer Eye Season 8 not only for a makeover, but also to promote deaf football programs and share the close-knit bond within the community.

Tim Keel

Tim was described as the biggest KISS fan of all time in Queer Eye Season 8 trailer. He had been the caretaker for his brother for so long that he forgot who he was. The Fab Five will be helping Tim start his journey towards rediscovering himself.

Doreen Ketches

Doreen Ketchens is an acclaimed traditional jazz clarinetist and a renowned local legend. She was cast on Queer Eye Season 8 because she needed help taking over her family business. Her shop, Doreen’s Sweets, was given a makeover by Fab Five member Bobby Berk.

Doreen got herself into a small controversy before Season 8 airing as she called out the Queer Eye production team for mismanagement on her Instagram. However, it seems the matter was resolved because she removed the post.

Ernest

Earnest Queer Eye Season 8

Ernest was encouraged to be on the show by his daughter, Ariel, who felt that her parent’s marriage of 39 years was falling apart. The Fab Five will help Earnest express himself in words and reconnect with his wife on the couple’s 39th anniversary.

All seven seasons of the show are available to stream on Netflix, and the next season is scheduled to air on January 24.
