Rainbow Six adds Golden Gun Arcade mode for limited-time

Starting March 19, Rainbow Six Siege has a new game mode: Golden Gun. The one shot, one kill mode is sure to provide a serious change of pace from what you’re used to, equipped with only a Desert Eagle.

The mode will only be available over the weekend, ending on March 23, so now is the time to jump in and give it a ‘shot’, before it goes for good.

First announced back at the Six Invitational, the Golden Gun mode is the first of many ‘Arcade Playlists’ planned for Siege over this season. The mode is available to all players, on all platforms at the same time.

How does Golden Gun work?

It’s still 5v5, played in three-minute rounds of Secure Area on Oregon. Because it’s bound to get a bit hectic by design, there’s no prep phase.

You can pick from a selection of Operators, but regardless of your choice, everyone will be equipped with the gold-covered Deagle, pumping out one-hit kills.

You can still use your specific Operator’s gadgetry and items, but of course, the playing field is leveled out by everyone rocking the powerful 50 cal. hand cannon.

The mode will be rotated out of the Arcade on March 23, though we’re not sure at exactly what time.

It’s also a good time to hop into Rainbow 6 this weekend specifically, because if you’re on PS4 or PC, Ubisoft is handing out 50% renown boost as compensation for the issues last weekend. It starts at 9AM EDT on March 20.

Once the Golden Gun mode is gone though, there will be more modes in the Arcade Playlist in the future – this is just a start.
