It’s been a long wait but finally, the PUBG snow map, Vikendi, has a release date for both the Xbox and PS4! The Vikendi release date is January 22.
Release Date for Vikendi on PS4 and Xbox
Vikendi will be playable on live servers, across all modes, on both PS4 and Xbox, one week from today. PUBG promised the long awaited snow map would come in January and they haven’t disappointed. It was released for the PC on December 19.
Vikendi has been available to play for both PS4 and Xbox users but only the PUBG test server (PTS). Players have been able to download the PTS and experience the map first hand.
The purpose of the PTS was to allow Bluehole to further optimise the performance of the map before the subsequent release to live servers.
Vikendi Night Mode?
Eagle-eyed PUBG fans may have noticed the exciting prospect of a night mode in Vikendi.
Several scenes from the official PUBG snow map trailer show variations of a night sky. This includes a plain black sky, full moon and even aurora lights!

There has been nothing said about this in an official capacity. However, given the night sky features so prominently in the trailer it could be an eventuality it will make its way into the full game. The likely scenario is the feature is being saved for an update in the coming months.
PS4 FPP Finally Opening
Within the announcement of a Vikendi release date for console, there is also news about PS4 FPP. PUBG PS4 players have been clamouring for the introduction of the FPP mode since its release back in December.
It has been confirmed that FPP is also coming January 22. Furthermore, this applies to all FPP queues. Details weren’t elaborated on further than this. However, it is reasonable to assume this means that all regions and modes will have an FPP option now!
