How to claim PUBG’s free in-game anniversary baseball cap

To celebrate its two-year anniversary, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is giving away an exclusive in-game item to fans who have stuck around.

The popular battle royale title launched on March 23, 2017 and has gone through a number of different phases, at one point being the most popular battle royale game in the world. It has since fallen behind Fortnite and Apex Legends, but a hardcore and loyal fan base remain – continuing to drop into the game’s three different maps.

Now, to celebrate the title’s second anniversary, PUBG Corp are giving players the chance to redeem an exclusive in-game baseball cap that won’t be around for long.

The cap marks the anniversary of the game by displaying the number two at the front, with angels wings attached at either side of the number and the letters ‘ND’ underneath to signify second. There is also a PUBG logo on the side of the hat, so you don’t forget which game you’re playing.

To secure the hat, PC players will have to log into the game, visit the in-game store and hit ‘purchase’ on the item between March 27 and April 24. The item will be free in the in-game, and selecting purchase in the store will just unlock the cap.

Players who are still trying to secure Winner Winner Chicken Dinners on console will have to wait just a little bit longer. Console fans will unlock the baseball cap if they boot the game up between April 9 and May 7.

The exclusive cap isn’t the only thing that Bluehole have done to commemorate the two-year anniversary of PUBG. The game’s developers have already rolled out changes to the iconic Erangel map – adding improved and increased loot.

It remains to be seen if there are more celebrations planned for PUBG’s second anniversary in a possible bid to lure players back to the once mega-popular title.
