Pokemon Go is filled with fantastic little details for players to discover, and few are as “amazing” as the Buddy Pokemon Easter Eggs.
Pokemon Go has quite a history behind it, and plenty of nostalgic Easter Eggs to drop into its game. After all, its multiple Pocket Monsters, art design, and battles are all reminiscent of previous titles. As such, it’s almost predictable to see a few adorable winks and nods being dropped into the game.
What’s not predictable, however, is quite how many hidden details players can find on their journeys, especially when making a Pokemon your Buddy – and one Shaymin surprise has set off a wave of Easter Eggs that even long-term players haven’t spotted.
During a discussion in the Pokemon Go Reddit, one player revealed the detail that their Shaymin “leaves a flower trail as you walk” when you have one as your Buddy, and it opened a floodgate of cute details for tons of Buddies.
“Wiglett burrows, it’s adorable” commented one user, revealing an adorable addition from the worm-style Pokemon (it makes sense really).
Interestingly, not all focus on movement, with one player sharing that “Nosepass will always turn and face north after a while” which could be handy if you’re lost on your Pokemon Go adventure.

Others share their details when you’re moving fast: “Metagross, when you go faster than walking speed it retracts its legs and uses them as jet engines like a VTOL aircraft.”
However, there was one Pokemon whose detail was a little harder to discover, with even experienced players missing it. “I believe the only other special Easter egg to come off a buddy is with Meloetta, who will change the music” shared one user.
This blew the minds of many fans, but if you do make Meloetta your Buddy and turn up the sound, you’ll likely be hearing some more 8-Bit music designs.
There are tons of small details in Pokemon Go, and plenty of your Buddies will have little Easter Eggs as they follow you on your adventures, so be sure to keep an eye out for them – and it’s worth going for a walk with Meloetta when you can.
