The Pokemon community was reeling after they made a terrifying discovery about Sword & Shield’s Gigantamax Garbodor. The hilariously disturbing truth about the garbage monster will leave your stomach churning.
Sword & Shield made its debut in November 2019, and brought the long-running Pokemon franchise into its eighth generation. The latest release introduced players to new additions such as the Wild Area and Raids.
However, players discovered that the game’s Gigantamax feature – which turns creatures into super-sized forms – had a disturbingly creepy detail for the poison type Garbodor. The fifth gen monster will truly consume anything.
G-Max Garbodor’s terrifying detail
Garbodor was first introduced in the 2010 release Black & White. The Poison-type literally looks like a pile of garbage, as various objects are stuck in its mushy body.
As you can imagine then, its appearance is a sight to be seen in Sword & Shield when it’s in Gigantamax form. However, a player made a much more sinister discovery.
Redditor ‘that_nasty_dumptruck’ made the post on April 16 and observed, “Umm there’s a dead Magikarp in G-max Garbodor?” and included a screenshot of a fish tail sticking out of its body.

The user appears to be right, as it is indeed Magikarp’s tail. Although even more disturbing is the fact that the rest of the body is just bones – you can use your imagination to figure out what happened. The post blew up on Reddit, and at the time of writing has over 5.1k upvotes.
The image sparked a discussion among trainers such as ‘EzequielGI’ who exclaimed, “Damn, that G-Max form went from weird to dark.” As if the discovery wasn’t horrifying enough, another user pointed out, “Do you ever think what the curry ingredients are made of?”
The implications are nightmare fuel seeing as the monster’s diet consists of the garbage. Do humans in the franchise eat Pokemon? The Poison-type has a whole host of objects it’s picked up along the way – and even has a Master Ball lodged into the side of its back.
Ever since players were introduced to the Galar region in Sword & Shield, the community has been making interesting discoveries about the game’s lore – such as a potential solution to the Turffield glyph mystery.
However, while this latest discovery is creepy to say the least, consider that Garbodor eats the trash that people throw out. Which means it’s totally possible that beloved fish was the leftover ingredients for the game’s curry dishes. Now that is truly disturbing…
