Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn Special Research: Chasing Legends
Trainers around the world will be able to take part in a free Chasing Legends Special Research story featuring Rhi from the Go Ultra Recon Squad.
During this Special Research story, you’ll help Rhi discover Hoenn folklore about the Red and Blue Orbs, which are said to have a connection to Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon.
Shiny Jirachi makes its debut with Masterwork Research
Players around the world will be able to purchase a Wish Granted Masterwork Research to encounter Shiny Jirachi. Tickets are available from the in-game shop until March 20, 2023.
More Shinies make their debut in Pokemon Go
For the first time ever, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Unown H, Shiny Surskit, Shiny Gulpin, Shiny Torkoal, Shiny Cacnea, Shiny Tropius, and Shiny Relicanth in Pokemon Go – if you’re lucky!
New Costumed Pikachu sporting Hoenn trainer gear
In addition to the debut of several Shiny Pokemon, two new Costumed Pikachu will appear during the event, and they are dressed like Pokemon Ruby & Saphire’s main protagonists.
Players can encounter Pikachu wearing Brendan’s Hat and Pikachu wearing May’s Bow by using Incense to attract them. And they can both appear Shiny!
Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn bonuses
One of the biggest bonuses during this event is that players who choose Ruby can encounter Latios in the wild and taking a snapshot of it will lead to another Latios encounter.
On the other hand, players who choose Sapphire will be able to encounter Latias in the wild. Taking a snapshot of it will lead to another Latias encounter.
Niantic hasn’t released the full list of bonuses for Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn’s Global event yet, but we’ll update this page when they’re revealed.
Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn live event in Las Vegas
As well as the Global event we’ve just covered, there was a separate Pokemon Go Tour Hoenn event that took place in Sunset Park in Las Vegas on February 18, 2023, and February 19, 2023.
During this ticketed in-person event, players were able to enjoy an exclusive Special Research story, an increased Shiny rate for Hoenn Pokemon, some in-game bonuses, and real-life photo opportunities.
On the whole, the Las Vegas and Global events are expected to be quite similar – the main perk of going to Las Vegas was that players got to experience the event’s features a week before everyone else.
