Those trying to fill their Pokemon Go Pokedex might want to go after Shadow Entei now that it’s coming back to Shadow Raids during October as part of the Max Out season. So, to help you out, here are the best counters you can use to exploit the Legendary’s weaknesses in battle.
Shadow Entei weaknesses in Pokemon Go
Entei is a pure Fire-type Pokemon, meaning it’s weak to Ground, Rock, and Water-type attacks, so you can pick some of those to take them to the fight and quickly deplete its HP.
However, you should know that it takes decreased damage from Bug, Fairy, Fire, Grass, Ice, and Steel-type moves, so avoid using them, as they won’t deal much damage at all.

How to get Shadow Entei in Pokemon Go
In Pokemon Go, the only way players can get Shadow Entei is through Shadow Raids. First, they must defeat it in 5-Star Shadow Raids, and then capture it using the Premier Balls given after the encounter.
Luckily for them, the recent Raid rotations are bringing Shadow Entei back every weekend in October. This means there will be plenty of chances for players to catch one.
Previously, Shadow Entei appeared as Giovanni‘s final Pokemon during the Team GO Rocket Leader encounter, and players were able to rescue it after defeating the Boss. It also had special appearances in the wild and Research Tasks during events such as the Go Tour Johto back in 2022.
Can Shadow Entei be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
Trainers will be delighted to hear that the Shiny version of Shadow Entei is currently available in Pokemon Go.
The Shiny form of Entei was introduced as part of a Special Raid Challenge in 2019 and players taking on the October 2024 Shadow Raids will have plenty of chances to find one for themselves.
