Pokemon Go Rising Heroes: Wild spawns, Regieleki & Regidrago debut, new features

Niantic has revealed that Season 10 of Pokemon Go will be called Rising Heroes, featuring the debut of Regieleki and Regidrago in Elite Raids as well as the usual wild spawn and egg pool changes.

The current Mythical Wishes season is finally coming to a close, which means Pokemon Go players are looking ahead to Season 10 – which we now know is called Rising Heroes.

As well as Elite Raids starring Pokemon Sword & Shield Legendaries Regieleki and Regidrago, there will be a season-long ticketed Timed Research, four Community Day events, and season bonuses to enjoy.

Pokemon Go Rising Heroes season start & end date

Pokemon Go’s Rising Heroes season begins on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 10AM local time and ends on Thursday, June 1, 2023.

New features in Pokemon Go Rising Heroes season

A new feature of the Rising Heroes season is that Roaming Form Gimmighoul is now available to catch when you link your Pokemon Go account to your copy of Pokemon Scarlet or Violet on Switch.

When you send a postcard to Pokemon Scarlet or Violet, you’ll be able to use the Coin Bag in Pokemon Go which attracts wild Roaming Form Gimmighoul to your location for a limited amount of time.

Catching wild Gimmighoul or exploring with one as your Buddy will earn you Gimmighoul Coins. Collect 999 and you can evolve a Gimmighoul into Gholdengo! We’ve for more information about this here.

While this isn’t entirely new, Niantic have highlighted in the new season blog post that all Pokemon can now be found in XXS and XXL sizes. You’ll see a special animation when you encounter these sizes.

Regieleki and Regidrago will debut in Elite Raids

The Legendary Regieleki and Regidrago from Pokemon Sword & Shield will make their Pokemon Go debuts in Elite Raids taking place on March 11, 2023, and April 9, 2023.

It’s been confirmed that Elite Raids will be the only way to encounter these Legendaries during this season. Remember that Elite Raids can only be done in person, so you can’t use Remote Raid Passes.

Willow’s Wardrobe Timed Research

A season-long ticketed Willow’s Wardrobe Timed Research quest will be available to purchase from the in-game shop during Pokemon Go Season 10: Rising Heroes.

Completing this Timed Research will allow trainers to unlock a new costume inspired by Professor Willow as well as an encounter with a Melmetal that knows the Charge Attack Double Iron Bash.

Pokemon Go Rising Heroes Community Days

There are four Community Day events expected to take place during the Rising Heroes season:

  • March 18 – Community Day
  • April 15 – Community Day
  • April 29 – Community Day Classic
  • May 25 – Community Day

We don’t know what any of the Community Day headliner Pokemon are yet, but Niantic will most likely announce them gradually throughout the season.

Pokemon Go Rising Heroes Research Breakthrough rewards

During the Rising Heroes season, you’ll be able to earn encounters with Parasect, Pinsir, Snorlax, Gible, Furfrou, and Goomy by completing seven Field Research tasks and getting a Research Breakthrough.

Pokemon Go Rising Heroes season bonuses

The following bonses will be available throughout the Rising Heroes seasom:

  • Increased damage dealt by Pokémon participating in raids remotely.
  • Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops.
  • Extra Stardust earned from Team Go Rocket encounters.
