Regidrago, the Dragon-type Legendary Titan, is returning to Pokemon Go Raid battles to debut its Shiny version. Learn its weaknesses and best counters to help you effectively defeat it before the time runs out.
The Legendary Titans are some of the most powerful creatures you can get in Pokemon Go, so is not a surprise avid players want to get all of them in their Shiny versions.
Now they finally can do that, as both Regidrago and Regieleki are about to debut their – up until now – missing Shiny forms as a way to celebrate the ending of the current Max Out season. So if you come across one in Pokemon Go, here are its weaknesses and best counters.
Regidrago weaknesses in Pokemon Go
Regidrago is a pure Dragon-type Pokemon which means it’s weak against Dragon, Fairy, and Ice-type attacks. These three types are all equally effective, so you’ve got quite a few Pokemon to choose from to deal super-effective damage.
On the other hand, you’ll want to avoid using Electric, Fire, Grass, and Water-type moves on Regidrago, as it is resistant to them and won’t deal much damage.
Regidrago best counters
Here are some of the best counters to use against Regidrago in Niantic’s mobile game:
POKEMON | SPRITE | BEST MOVESET |
---|---|---|
Mega Rayquaza | Dragon Tail & Breaking Swipe | |
Mega Garchomp | Dragon Tail & Outrage | |
Shadow Salamence | Dragon Tail & Outrage | |
Shadow Dragonite | Dragon Tail & Outrage | |
Origin Forme Dialga | Dragon Breath & Roar of Time | |
Origin Forme Palkia | Dragon Tail & Spacial Rend | |
Gardevoir | Charm & Dazzling Gleam | |
Mamoswine | Powder Snow & Avalanche | |
Dragapult | Dragon Tail & Breaking Swipe | |
Haxorus | Dragon Tail & Breaking Swipe |
We’ve included a mix of Megas, Legendaries, and more common Pokemon in the table above, so there should be something for every trainer to use.
If you don’t have any of those counters or their alternate forms, use your strongest Dragon, Fairy, and Ice-type Pokemon to target Regidrago’s weaknesses. Just make sure that they are properly leveled up and have matching movesets.
How to get Regidrago in Pokemon Go
The only way to catch Regidrago in Pokemon Go is to first defeat it in a 5-Star Raid Battle. Luckily, this Legendary Titan is coming back as a Raid Boss from November 27, 2024, until December 3, 2024, as part of the Max Out Finale event.

During this time, Regidrago will be accompanied by fellow Titan Regieleki and both Galar mascots Zacian and Zamazenta. More so, the four of them will appear on the Raid Hour happening on November 27, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time.
Keep in mind that taking down Regidrago won’t be easy, as these Raid Bosses are some of the most difficult opponents you’ll face in the game and you’ll be required to team up with other trainers.
If you manage to defeat Regidrago, you’ll be given a limited amount of Premier Balls – based on your performance during the battle – to attempt a catch. Remember that using Golden Razz Berries and landing Excellent Curveball Throws will increase your chances of catching it.
Regidrago CP in Pokemon Go
As with every Raid Boss in the game, the CP Regidrago has during a Raid battle won’t be the same once you manage to catch it after defeating it. Plus, certain types of weather can increase such CP.
Raid Boss CP | 33,052 |
CP range once captured | 1614 – 1699 |
Windy weather CP range | 2017 – 2124 |
Regidrago max CP (Level 50) | 3361 |
Can Regidrago be Shiny?
Yes, Regidrago can now be Shiny in Pokemon Go, as this special variation will debut as soon as the Legendary re-appears as a Raid Boss during the Max Out Finale event.
Unfortunately – and similar to Shiny Regieleki – Shiny Regidrago is a disappointment. The only difference between the special variation and its regular form is that its arms’ colors change from gray to steel blue. This also makes spotting one very hard, so pay close attention to every Regidrago you come across.
Remember that the odds of finding a Shiny Regidrago are very slim, but you can increase your chances by fighting as many Regidrago as you can during its time as a Raid Boss.
