The Legendary Origin Forme Dialga is back in Pokemon Go‘s 5-Star Raid battles to celebrate the Into the Wild event. If you’re brave enough to go up against it, here are the best counters you can use.
Pokemon Go’s Into the Wild event is one of the final events that the Max Out season will celebrate, that’s why it is featuring Gen 4’s Legendary duo Dialga and Palkia in their Origin Formes.
Trainers who are set on catching the Diamond version mascot in all its glory will need to prepare properly. So, let’s break down the best counters to bring this Legendary Pokemon down.
Origin Forme Dialga weaknesses in Pokemon Go
Like its standard form, Dialga’s Origin Forme is also a dual Steel/Dragon-type Pokemon. This means Origin Forme Dialga is only weak against Fighting and Ground-type moves, so you’ll want to build your team around those two.
On the other hand, this Legendary resists a ton of types. Altogether it is resistant to Normal, Flying, Rock, Bug, Steel, Water, Grass, Electric, Psychic, and Poison.
Origin Forme Dialga best counters
Considering Origin Forme Dialga is the original form of Dialga, it will likely be much stronger. As such, trainers will need to bring in their strongest Pokemon to counter this Legendary.
Here are the best counters you can use against Origin Form Dialga in Niantic’s game:
POKEMON | SPRITE | BEST MOVESET |
---|---|---|
Primal Groudon | Mud Shot & Precipice Blades | |
Mega Lucario | Force Palm & Aura Sphere | |
Mega Garchomp | Mud Shot & Earth Power | |
Shadow Excadrill | Mud-Slap & Scorching Sands | |
Shadow Conkeldurr | Counter & Dynamic Punch | |
Terrakion | Double Kick & Sacred Sword | |
Landorus Therian Forme | Mud Shot & Sandsear Storm | |
Swampert | Mud Shot & Earthquake | |
Rhyperior | Mud-Slap & Earthquake | |
Hariyama | Force Palm & Dynamic Punch |
We’ve included a mix of Megas, Legendaries, Shadow, and more common Pokemon in the table above so there should be something for trainers of all levels.
In case you don’t have any of them, focus on exploiting the deity’s weaknesses with your strongest Fighting and Ground-type Pokemon with matching movesets. Don’t forget to also level them up so they can resist the encounter.
