A leak claims there will be a Pokemon Go Equinox event which will start on March 19. The source has proved reliable suggesting this event is happening.
Equinox 2019 event
To celebrate the equinox, which marks the first day of Spring, Niantic will hold a week long Pokemon Go event.
The leak, provided by Gaming Intel, states the start and end times of the event, and that grass-type Pokemon will spawn more frequently. Furthermore, grass-types will feature in raid battles and be themed in research quests.
The leak didn’t include details about bonuses or any other features.
The event will start at March 19, 1pm PDT (8pm GMT) and end March 26, 1pm PDT (8pm GMT).
Scientifically, for those in the Northern Hemisphere, the March equinox is called the vernal equinox, and marks the first day that the north of the equator has more daylight than the south.

Grass-type Pokemon
It has now been confirmed that in addition to various grass-type Pokemon spawning more frequently in the wild, hemisphere exclusive Pokemon, Lunatone and Solrock, which switch hemispheres at the start of the event. This means Solrock will become available in the southern hemisphere and Lunatone in the northern hemisphere. These two will remain switched once the event concludes.
