Necrozma was the cover Legendary for the Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon games, and now it’s finally part of Pokemon Go. Here’s how to get this mighty creature and its fused versions Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane.
Necrozma is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokemon from Gen 7, connected to the fearsome Ultra Beasts. It has three forms that change its type, which involves fusing with other Legendary Pokemon or using Z-Moves.
Now, it finally made its way into Pokemon Go thanks to the Go Fest 2024 event, and players can get it as well as its Solgaleo and Lunala fusions, Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma, respectively.
Here’s all you need to know to get all these mighty beasts in Niantic’s game.
How to get Necrozma in Pokemon Go
As with every other Legendary, the only way players can get Necrozma in Pokemon Go is by defeating it in a 5-Star Raid battle and then using the given Premiere Balls to catch it.
However, we should note that its availability is limited due to Necrozma’s ties to the Go Fest 2024 festivities. This means that Necrozma will be available at different times:
- May 30 – June 2, 2024; Sendai, Japan
- June 14 – 16, 2024; Madrid, Spain
- July 5 – 7, 2024; New York City, USA
- July 13 – 14, 2024; Worldwide
Pokemon Go Fest 2024 will also feature the debut of Necrozma’s fusion forms: Dawn Wings Necrozma and Dusk Mane Necrozma.
Can Necrozma be Shiny in Pokemon Go?
Yes, Necrozma can be Shiny in Pokemon Go, as it debuted at the beginning of the Go Fest 2024 event. It is a dark shade of indigo rather than black, so it’s not as impressive as other Shiny Pokemon.
However, Shiny Necrozma is only available to ticketholders during the in-person Go Fest 2024 events. Therefore, those who didn’t purchase tickets must wait until Go Fest Global to encounter a Shiny Necrozma in 5-Star Raids.

Once players fuse Shiny Necrozma with a regular Solgaleo or Lunala, they will be able to get Shiny Dusk Mane Necrozma and Shiny Dawn Wings Necrozma, respectively.
How to fuse Necrozma into Dawn Wings Necrozma
To get Dawn Wings Necrozma in Pokemon Go, players must fuse Necrozma with Lunala using 1,000 Lunar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candy, and 30 Cosmog Candy.
Lunar Fusion Energy and Necrozma Candy can be earned by defeating the Dawn Wing Necrozma version that appears as a Raid boss in 5-Star Raid battles during Go Fest 2024 events, as well as completing Special Research Tasks.
It’s worth noting that this newly fused Dawn Wings Necrozma will immediately learn the Moongeist Beam Charged Attack.
How to fuse Necrozma into Dusk Mane Necrozma
To get Dusk Mane Necrozma in Pokemon Go, players must fuse Necrozma with Solgaleo using 1,000 Solar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candy, and 30 Cosmog Candy.
Solar Fusion Energy and Necrozma Candy can be earned by defeating the Dusk Mane Necrozma that appears as a Raid Boss in 5-Star Raids during the Pokemon Go Fest 2024 events and through Special Research Tasks.
As with Dawn Wings Necrozma, this new Dusk Mane Necrozma with have the Sunsteel Strike Charged Attack.
