Sawk is a region-exclusive ‘mon available in Pokemon Go. Here’s how you can get Sawk & if it can be Shiny.

Introduced in the Generation 5 games, Sawk is the counterpart to Throh. Sawk is a Fighting-type creature who doesn’t evolve into any other Pokemon.

Typically, Sawk can only be found in Europe, Asia, and Australia, while Throh can be encountered in North America, South America, and Africa. The two ‘mons are part of Pokemon Go’s region-exclusive list, alongside others like the different flower forms of Flabébé.

However, the Rivals Week event has included Sawk and Throh as available wild spawns. Here’s how you can get them.

How to get Sawk in Pokemon Go

To catch Sawk, you must log onto Pokemon Go during the Rivals Week event, which runs from Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10 a.m. local time through Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 8 p.m. local time.

Sawk and Throh will appear more frequently in the wild regardless of your region from May 6 at 10:00 a.m. to May 8 at 10:00 a.m.

Can Sawk be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

Yes, Pokemon Go players are available to catch the Shiny version of Sawk. Therefore, you may encounter one in the wild during the Rivals Week event. You also have the chance to find the Shiny form of Throh.

Sawk general stats in Pokemon Go

This Fighting-type Pokemon has an attack-based stat spread of 231 (ATK), 153 (DEF), and 181 (STA) and can reach a max CP value of 3152. Additionally, Sawk’s power is boosted by Cloudy weather.

Sawk is weak to Fairy, Flying, and Psychic-type moves but resists Bug, Dark, and Rock-type attacks.
