The easiest way to get the item in Pokemon Go is to purchase one for 200 PokeCoins from the in-game shop.

Naturally, the easiest way to acquire PokeCoins is to buy them with real money. However, you can also earn them for free by placing Pokemon in a Gym that’s controlled by your team (more on that here).

It’s also possible to get Magnetic Lure Modules by completing Special Research stories or Timed Research tasks. The ongoing Strength of Steel event features a Magnetic Lure Module as a reward for completing all of its tasks, though you’ll need to finish them and claim it before the event ends on July 30 at 8 pm local time.

Which evolutions need a Magnetic Lure Module in Pokemon Go?

There are three Pokemon that can evolve using this module:

  • Magnezone (from Magneton)
  • Probopass (from Nosepass)
  • Vikavolt (from Charjabug)

To evolve these Pokemon, you’ll need to be near a PokeStop that has a Magnetic Lure Module placed on it. You can do this yourself or find one that another trainer has placed on a PokeStop.

The effects of a single module will only last for 30 minutes in Pokemon Go – or slightly longer during special events – so make sure you have enough Candy to get the evolution you want.
