The world of Pokemon has over 1000 unique creatures, and there’s a particular type for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a Water-type, a cat Pokemon, a dog Pokemon, or a fierce Fire-type, it can be hard to choose a favorite.
While some trainers prioritize building up their team with the most powerful creatures like Charizard or Legendaries like Rayquaza, others are simply looking for the cutest designs out there. So, here’s our ranking of the 30 cutest Pokemon of all time.
30. Shinx

Luxray is a great Electric-type Pokemon, but before it grows into an intimidating lion, it starts as the tiny cub, Shinx.
This cute fellow has a lovely design and color combination that gives glimpses of its type, but it also has details that make it more adorable like the short tuft on its head and cheeks, the yellow lines around its front paws – it adds a line with each evolution – and the star details in both ears and tail.
29. Munchlax

The imposing Snorlax has been a fan favorite ever since its debut in Pokemon Red & Blue, and it remains an incredibly powerful choice in many games including the popular Pokemon Go. In Stufful’s case, its bear design is mixed with pink and white tones that along with its very round head makes it look like a giant candy. The pointy ears, round tail, big chunky paws, and smile can melt the iciest heart.
However, Stufful dislikes being touched, so you’ll have to appreciate it from a safe distance.
17. Wooper

The fact that Wooper has no arms could be creepy, by in its tiny body and with that face, it only makes it more endearing.

15. Jigglypuff

The singing Pokemon known as Jigglypuff has long been the unofficial face of ‘cute’ in the Pokemon franchise, appearing on all kinds of merch like t-shirts and phone cases.
It may have been pushed down the list by newer Pokemon over the last two decades, but it just about holds onto a spot in our top 10, mainly due to that adorable tuft of fur on its head and incredibly big round eyes.
In the anime, Jigglypuff showed its larger-than-life personality by chasing Ash and the gang just to sign to them. Unfortunately, it became very frustrated by the fact that everybody kept falling asleep in every performance.
14. Squirtle

All of the original Kanto starters are worthy of the term ‘cute’, but we think Squirtle is even more adorable than Charmander and Bulbasaur, and it’s mostly due to its incredibly fun and loveable personality.
This tortoise-inspired creature hides away inside its shell when it feels threatened and has one of the most recognizable cries. Even when it’s trying to be cool as a shades-wearing member of the Squirtle Squad gang, it fails because it’s just too charming.
Eventually, it loses its cuteness when it evolves into the mighty Blastoise. However, it’s an amazing Water-type Pokemon to have on your team, so don’t be sad.
13. Togepi

One of the most recognizable Pokemon for trainers who grew up watching the OG anime is Togepi, as this adorable creature was Misty’s sidekick for more than 200 episodes.
It’s literally a baby inside an eggshell, so it was bound to be adorable. Plus, its round shape, stubby arms, and round squishy feet add to the equation. Even its evolved forms, Togetic and Togekiss, are pretty darn cute.
12. Azurill

Both Marill and Azumarill are great Pokemon, with the latter one even being one of the best fighters of all time excelling in Pokemon Go, Unite, and Scarlet & Violet. However, it’s their baby form, Azurill, the one that got a spot in this ranking.
The incredibly small size plus the color, round ears, and the fact that it walks by bouncing on its own tail (which is the same size as its whole body) makes Azurill extremely cute and loveable.
11. Piplup

Everyone loves penguins, so it stands to reason that everyone loves Piplup! This Gen 4 starter almost looks like a child’s toy with its soft blue color scheme and tiny beak, and although it evolves into one of the best starter evolutions, Empoleon, we’re always tempted to keep Piplup exactly the way it is because it’s so cute.
In the anime, Piplup was introduced as Dawn’s Pokemon, and it became one of the highlights of the show thanks to the clash between its endearing look and incredibly bad temper and competitiveness.
10. Shaymin – Land Forme

Legendaries may be absent from this list because of their ferocious nature, but there are plenty of adorable Mythical creatures, and Shaymin is one of them.
While both Land and Sky Formes are desirable, it’s the hedgehog-inspired Land Forme that really takes the cake. How could anyone resist that round body, adorable face, and the flowers that grow on its back when it’s happy? Plus, it’s so small and squishable that you’ll never want to let go.
9. Emolga

This flying squirrel resembles fellow rodents like Minccino, Deddene, Togedemaru, and even Pikachu. However, Emolga is special in its own way.
The tiny body, big glassy eyes, cute color scheme, and yellow details that allude to its Electric type are just the tip of the iceberg. Emolga is a very resourceful fella that uses its cheeks to produce electric shocks to grill its food – talk about a chef – but it also has a temper, so be careful.
The best part of Emolga? It doesn’t have an evolution, so you can travel with it and level it up all you want without it changing forms.
8. Teddiursa

What can be more cute than a literal teddy bear? Teddiursa’s small size, round ears, brown fur, and moon detail on its forehead make this Pokemon extremely endearing.
Teddiursa is known for being a little mischievous and can be usually found creating its own honey using Beedrill pollen and fruits. When it gets honey, the crescent moon on its forehead will glow, making this bear unbearably cute.
However, as with real-life cubs, you shouldn’t mess with this tiny creature. It might look very innocent, but it can be quite tough, and even tougher – and scarier – when it evolves into Ursaring.
7. Sobble

When the Galar region starters were unveiled ahead of Pokemon Sword & Shield, the obvious standout for lovers of all things cute was definitely the ultimate sad boy, Sobble.
This Water-type Pokemon’s defining trait is bursting into tears whenever it’s scared – we can relate to that – so it’s only natural that we all just want to hold it close and give it a hug.
This sobbing lizard with huge eyes is elusive and quite timid, and it might be even hard to spot as it can turn itself invisible when wet.
6. Togedemaru

Any creature known as the ‘Roly-Poly Pokemon’ was bound to get a spot on this list, so it should come as no surprise to see Togedemaru placing so highly.
It’s pretty much a ball of excitement with tiny feet, even tinier hands, and Pikachu-inspired markings. It’s impossible not to want to squeeze this little rodent. However, don’t make it angry, or you’ll face the wrath of those fur spikes on its back.
5. Phanpy

Elephants are one of the most majestic animals in the world, but when they’re young, they’re also one of the cutest – so it’s no surprise that a Pokemon based on a baby elephant would appear on this list.
With a pastel blue color, large trunk, and floppy ears that it uses to cool itself down, Phanpy is the perfect cute companion.
It appeared in the anime as Ash’s Pokemon, but like many others on this list, Phanpy loses all of its cuteness when it evolves into Donphan.

Legend says Mew contains the DNA of every single Pokemon in its body, and clearly, it favored the cute ones to get those giant eyes, adorable sounds, and playful personality traits. Most Psychic types have a creepy element to them, but not this iconic pink creature.
3. Sprigatito

The latest Grass Starter has quickly risen over other Pokemon – including its fellow felines – and settled as one of the most adorable Pokemon in the franchise.
Let’s be honest, all cats are cute, but Sprigatito’s big eyes, soft tones, fluffy fur, and pointy ears have trainers in love. Plus, anime watchers have had the chance to get to know it a little further, as it appeared as Liko’s Pokemon.
It does add to its appeal that its final stage, Meowscarada, is one hell of a fighter and has been killing it across games such as Pokemon Unite.

It might be controversial to place the Ice-type Cubchoo above the likes of Pikachu and Mew, but can you blame us? Even the snot coming out of its nose is somehow adorable.
Similar to Teddiursa and bears, baby polar bears are some of the cutest animals in the world – and if we could, we would be running towards them to hug their fluffy bodies – so of course Pokemon had to add their own version to their Pokedex.
Like many on this list, Cubchoo evolves into one of the least-cute Pokemon in the franchise, the intimidating Beartic. But until that happens, you’ll just want to give it a big hug.

No one really knows, but maybe it’s the fact that it takes the most adorable parts of all of these animals that makes it so irresistible. Eevee is without a doubt the cutest Pokemon ever thanks to its design, sweet and calm nature, and also its iconic evolutions.
We can agree that several Eeveelutions are incredible. However, the Fairy-type Sylveon is the ultimate fan-favorite thanks to its lovely pastel pink color scheme, good type, and incredible power, and while some might be put off by its mildly unsettling stare, most trainers love this Gen 6 beauty.
