The Galar region’s Legendary Zacian has returned to Pokemon Go for a limited time, so here are the best movesets this powerful Fairy-type Pokemon can use in both PvP and Raid battles.
Zacian was first added to Pokemon Go during the Sword & Shield event in 2021, and it’s making a comeback during the Legendary Heroes event to debut its Shiny version.
This powerful Legendary creature is well-known to be one of the best Fairy-type Pokemon in the whole franchise. So, if you plan on capturing one during its run as a 5-Star Raid boss, here are the best movesets you can teach it.
Best moveset for PvP
The best moveset you can teach Zacian for PvP consists of Snarl as a Fast Move and Play Rough as a Charged Move.
Snarl has the best energy generation out of all the available Fast Moves. This means it will be able to quickly save up for the only Fairy-type attack in its moveset: the STAB-boosted Charged Move Play Rough.
If you can afford a second Charged Move, we’d recommend going with Close Combat, as this high DPS Fighting-type move will give you wider coverage and a chance to take on Steel-types, which are resistant to Fairy-type moves. If you’re not going up against a Steel-type opponent, then use Wild Charge.

Best moveset for Raids
Zacian’s best moveset for Raids is also Snarl as a Fast Move and Play Rough as a Charged Move, with 16.33 DPS and a total damage output of 588.7.
In Raid battles, it’s better to go with a same-type moveset to exploit the STAB. However, in Zacian’s case, that would mean turning it into a Steel-type attacker with Metal Claw and Iron Head, leaving it largely outclassed by so many other Pokemon.
So, the best way to go is to use Snarl as a Fast Move to provide high-energy gains and coverage and pair it up with Play Rough. Play Rough is the only move Zacian has that benefits from STAB. Plus, it is cheap and deals high damage.
