Ice-type fans who want to add Cryogonal to their teams might be wondering if it is worth it. To help them out, here’s an overview of the best moveset for this creature in Pokemon Go‘s PvP and Raid battles.
Pokemon Go players who did the Ice Catch Mastery Timed Research in December 2023 received plentiful opportunities to catch Cryogonal in the game. However, those who didn’t can search for it now that it’s debuting its Dynamax form during the Holiday Part 2 event.
If you manage to catch one and want to take it for a spin in either PvP or Raids, here are the best movesets you can teach Cryogonal in Pokemon Go.
Best moveset for PvP
Pokemon Go players should equip Cryogonal with Ice Shard as its Fast Move and Triple Axel as its Charged Move for PvP encounters.
Ice Shard is a good Ice-type move that fits a lot of Ice-type Pokemon due to its high EPS. Cryogonal can only choose from one of two Fast Moves, so the choice here is clear.
And as for the Charged Moves, Triple Axel serves as an STAB attack and one that doesn’t cost that much, either. Low-cost moves are the way to go with Cryogonal, hence why Night Slash is the other preferred option if you can afford a secondary Charged Move.
In case you’re up against Fire or Rock-type enemies, then switch the Charged Move for Water Pulse. It might not be a great Water-type attack, but it’ll do the job.

Best moveset for Raids
The best moveset players can pick for Cryogonal in Raids is Frost Breath as the Fast Move and Triple Axel as the Charged Move.
Out of the two Fast Moves, Frost Breath deals a bit more damage for a bit less energy, so go with it. For the Charged Move, Triple Axel remains the best option, not only because of the STAB, but it also has good synergy with Frost Breath and is the best cost-efficient move out of them all.
While this is the best combination for the Ice-type Pokemon, you can change Triple Axel for any of the other available moves for more coverage. It will depend on your opponent’s weaknesses (with Night Slash being the best of them all).
