The Overwatch 2 developers have revealed they are working on finer tuning for hero projectile sizes following Season 9’s changes.
Overwatch 2 just launched its biggest season yet. Season 9: Champions introduced plenty of changes to the hero shooter, including a new rank called Champion, a revamped ranked mode, and a complete overhaul to hero health. With the sheer amount of changes, players are still learning to play in the new patch properly.
Among the overhaul to hero health came a new DPS passive and a change to all hero projectiles. Now DPS are able to reduce the amount of healing their target receives when they deal damage to them, letting players eliminate heroes with good focus fire. All projectiles in Overwatch 2 became more accurate, a controversial change that stirred discussion among players.
Now the devs have come forward to reveal that they are working on fine-tuning for several of her projectile sizes, now that they’ve gotten feedback from players.

Lead Hero Designer Alec Dawson announced on Twitter that the team is continuing to minor all the effects of the Season 9 changes. However they want more time for changes to settle in, but they have some plans for a few outliers in the short term.

“Expect finer tuning of the projectile size changes for a subset of heroes and some health adjustments. Accuracy numbers are meeting intentions but some are pushed a bit too far.” the dev explained.
This announcement follows on from player critique that the changes have broken headshot hitboxes, with certain heroes now unable to be headshot due to the larger projectile sizes.
The devs have not yet announced when these changes will hit live servers, but it seems that the team is closely monitoring how Overwatch 2 is running following the major Season 9 patch.
