Overwatch Summer Games skins revealed: Surf ‘n’ Splash Torbjorn, American Reaper, and more

The Overwatch Summer Games launched on July 16 and the Blizzard devs have once again introduced a bevy of skins for heroes that show them off in completely new ways, especially for Torbjorn.

Blizzard’s annual summer event has arrived a bit sooner than a lot of players are used to, but it’s still bringing all the events, tune-ups, and features that the Overwatch community have come to expect.

One of the main seasonal offerings Overwatch players look forward to as the heat rises are the wacky to downright bizarre skins that come packaged with the Summer Games update, and this year is no exception.

Overwatch Summer Games new skins

It seems Blizzard is dipping their collective toes on releasing new entries on tons of previous thematic skins.

Players will be able to unlock everything from ‘Zhonguo’ Mei to an incredible ‘Lúcioball’ which is actually a skin (and a play on the name) for everyone’s favorite hamster mech pilot Wrecking Ball.

While those skins definitely give players a great new option to decorate their heroes, one of the more popular skins by far will be the latest look for Torbjorn which does away with unnecessary clothing while showing off new beach-centric augments for the weapons designer.

While Torb dressed down, Genji suited up in traditional Japanese Kendo gear with the ‘Kendoka’ skin introduced for the Summer Games.

Joining Mei with skins only available through Weekly Challenges are Reinhardt and Reaper who will also be representing their regions with a hardcore partriotic ‘American Reaper’ skin and an epic ‘Bundesadler Reinhardt.’

Finally, while his brother geared up, Hanzo dressed down to enjoy the splendor of the summer season with his Wave skin that gives him the most casual look to his character to date.

The Summer Update is bringing a whole lot more

While players are going to be grinding games to collect all of the skins, Overwatch also released a bunch of emotes and other in-game items.

Meanwhile, the Summer Games is also bringing back the hyped tradition of Lúcioball as players will no doubt express their dislike for the mode while draining hours into it.

The Summer Games is loaded this year, and Overwatch players will definitely have tons to do while the event is live from July 16 to August 5.
