An Overwatch player has demonstrated a useful trick for Widowmakers on Rialto.
Using what looks like a max-range Grappling Hook onto a tiny ledge, u/__Lucht demonstrated a spot that offers a defending Widowmaker valuable vision across the third stage.
The spot gives line-of-sight over a row of buildings to the offensive spawn for stage three, opening up opportunities for early picks if the defensive team has enough control to allow this set-up.
Both spawn doors are visible, so Widowmakers that are fast and accurate enough are guaranteed at least a chance to hit returning enemies.
Though the location offers no real cover from counter-fire, it’s far enough away and obscure enough that it’s likely that Widowmakers utilizing it should get a decent number of shots before the enemy figures out where they’re being sniped from and are able to respond.

While holding at the spawn doors is rarely going to be viable for too long, a quick kill on an enemy support, for example, could lead to an easier fight and an earlier advantage for the defending team, shaving valuable time off the clock and gaining an edge in ultimate charge.
Players hoping to take advantage of this position should do so quickly – it wouldn’t be the first time that a powerful Widowmaker sight-line was patched out by Blizzard as an “unintended location”.
