The Overwatch League may now be defunct, but that doesn’t mean we should forget all the incredible records set by legends of the game in the league’s short history.

As 2024 comes and the Overwatch world waits for updates on what Overwatch esports will look like post-OWL, it’s good to remember the legends and records set in OWL’s short, exciting, and turbulent six seasons.

And here we’ve compiled every single record of note from OWL, from its most successful franchises to the longest maps and series’ ever played, and even who got the most Fleta Deadlifts, so we truly know who carried their team the hardest.

Most Overwatch League trophies: San Francisco Shock

It shouldn’t be surprising that San Francisco Shock has racked up the most trophies as arguably the league’s most dominant team.

But not only do they have the most trophies, they also have the most finals appearances in the league’s history.

From two Grand Finals Championships in 2019 and 2020 and a plethora of Stage trophies, the Shock has undoubtedly made its mark in the league.

Most consecutive games lost: Shanghai Dragons (2018)

When it comes to losing streaks, the Shanghai Dragons take the record for their abysmal 0-42 record in the inaugural season.

Not only is this the worst losing streak in esports history, it’s also definitively the worst in sports history. Dragons started their existence with a 0-40 record in 2018 and unfortunately extended it by two matches in 2019.

However, their comeback was legendary, as in 2019 they finally broke the losing streak against the Boston Uprising.

Not only that, they won their first Stage trophy, and it all built up to the Dragons being the 2021 Grand Finals Champions, Overwatch 1’s very last.

Longest winning streak: San Francisco Shock (2019)

San Francisco Shock takes the cake for the longest winning streak, setting a 28-map win record in 2019.

During their legendary 2019, the Shock set the record during the regular season, showing why they were always places first seed in every single Stage.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Shock also takes home the most games won, winning 20 regular season series’ from 2021-2022.

Most matches played: Joon-yeong “Profit” Park

If there was one constant in the Overwatch League throughout its six years, it was Profit. From being the very first OWL Playoffs MVP and Champion, and being one of the best DPS’ in OWL history.

Over his stints with London Spitfire and Seoul Dynasty, Profit played a whopping 790 maps, rarely being subbed out.

The player who came second, Min-ki “Viol2t” Park, only had 677 maps played over his time in San Francisco Shock and Houston Outlaws, which goes to show how constant Profit truly was.

Most Final Blows in one map: Jung-woo “Sayaplayer” Ha (2019)

Despite being set five years ago, no player has been able to top Sayaplayer’s record-breaking 42 final blows against the Los Angeles Valiant.

His carry for the Florida Mayhem on Junkertown was legendary, as he kept racking up final blows after final blow to the disbelief of the casters.

Unfortunately, Sayaplayer and Florida lost the series against the Valiant, however, his performance on Bastion and Widowmaker will most likely go down as a legend in Overwatch.

However, when it comes to most eliminations in a single map, Houston Outlaws’ very own Happy racked up a whopping 75 eliminations against the San Francisco Shock in 2021.

Largest Fleta Deadlift: Alex “Seeker” Taylor (2023)

Named after one of the game’s greatest DPS’, a Fleta Deadlift is when a player racks up at least half of the team’s elimination. Generally, the size of the deadlift tells you how impactful a player was in a match.

And no player is as impactful as Seeker who racked up jaw-dropping 20 eliminations of the team’s 28 on Shambli Monastery against Florida Mayhem.

That means he had a Deadlift size of 142.9%, a number no other player comes close to.

Highest earning Overwatch League player: Min-ki “Viol2t” Park

If there’s one player who has earned the most throughout their OWL career, it’s no doubt one of the greatest main supports to ever do it.

By the end of the 2023 Season, Viol2t earned a total of $620,476 over his five seasons in OWL.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Viol2t has the most Grand Finals appearances of any player, four to be exact. In 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023. That means four of the five years he has been in the League, he has been in contention for a ring.

Even outside of Grand Finals appearances, he also has the most Stage finals appearances in his time with the San Francisco Shock and Houston Outlaws.

And all the top placements have undoubtedly racked up his earnings.

Most played hero in OWL: Ana

For a while, D.Va had the largest usage in the League, as in Overwatch 1 she synergized well with various Dive and Rush team compositions, and of course, GOATS.

However, over the years, especially in 2022 when the League switched over to Overwatch 2, D.Va’s usage dropped significantly and Ana grew more important.

And it was in 2022 and 2023 when Ana truly dominated, as she worked incredibly well with the Dive, Rush, and Poke comps that OWL saw in OW2.
